Hey guys im stuck on some gauge parts did anyone drill a hole in thier firewall to to out thier gauges through or is there another alternative? I put the boost gauge through the fender and that worked really nice. But I dont know where to put my egt, oil pres, and wide band through? and of course I have limited amount of length for the cords

just drill a hole through the firewall... its a lot easier than it sounds..lol

probably the easiest spot would be in front of the passenger side floorboard.. then run the wires inside along the firewall behind you a/c blower.

wish i had a pic for what im bout to explain....if you look on the passenger side of your firewall near the bottom, there is a rubber grommet that runs what im assuming to be is the harness...if you cut a slit into this grommet, you can run your wires through there...the other end comes out near the passenger floorboard...your gonna have to peel the carpet back a lil bit...your other option is another grommet near your passenger strut tophat...that one leads through the air cabin vent behind your glovebox...that ones a little trickier to fish through...hope it helps a lil, but would help more with pics...lol

I ran my egt and oil press through the grommet for the main ecu harness. The wideband I ran through the same hole as my stock rear O2 sensor on the passenger floorboard, It is easy to spot when you lift the car up and see where your stock one goes in. I have pics of them in my thread too.

well I took some of your advice, right now im working on the car as we speak just taking a little break, I got the egt gauge ss braid line through took me 20 mins because I barely had any room to fit those plugs... and then I have to cut and splice the oil pressure wires together because the plug for the back of the gauge is to big, but I got it through anyways and about to head to walmart to get my splicers. And last but not least my egt Im just going to feed it through the passenger groumet just because its a 6 foot cable. and that will be it for the day until the rest of my pieces come in. My manifold is getting delivered today from speedcorps I know it been like 3 months but I told justin to have his mechanic work on other manifolds so my manifold just doesnt sit around here at my house so when that comes in I will take pics. Then My forge is wga is getting delivered today cant wait!!! and that will complete the day. almost there to boost

hey guys sorry I didnt put pics up I was really tired and when i got done i basically slept the whole day, its kinda hard working from 5 to close at your job and with lazy employees working it makes the job longer. Here are some pics

Egt ss braid probe line running along my floor board to keep it neat so it doesnt go all over the place

Wideband cord, I ran it from the gauge pod, zipped tied it to the metal bar under the dash thats under the fuse box near the center console and to the passenger side through that groumet

heres the groumet

out comes the wideband through the engine bay groumet fromt the passenger side

this is where I ran the egt ss braiding and the oil pressure gauge through, the connector clip of the oil pressure gauge was to big to fit in that small space so I have to cut the wire and spice them together.

here is the oil pressure connector end and the egt probe, I used the metal airbox clip to hold them in place, I almost burnt the braiding yesterday from the braiding touching the battery , i thought I destroyed the wires so I tested it with a one of those small 9 volt batteries and a lighter and just put a little heat on it to see if the gauge moves which it did so its not broken

when I get ready to install the egt gauge I will take pics.

Also I notice when im driving when I try to accerlate it seems to keep hesistating and then it will pick up accerlation, Im using the stock box probably where the air filter is bad so I might put on the maf adapter and the filter to see if that helps. But can there be other reasons as well or has that happened to anyone else?

Air filter might be dirty. Take a look at your plugs. They might need a change. If not, you might want to check out your coils and plug wires. Coil packs are the usual suspects with issues like the ones you are having.

my buddy was having the same issues...he changed all sorts of stuff...sparks,coil pack and leads, even his alternator car wouldnt stay on ...his issued seemed a little more severe...car would keep bucking on him like not enough fuel was getting to the engine...after changing all that though it seemed to have alleviated the problem for a bit but still happens...he's thinking about changing injectors now

well I changed the air filter for the one Im using as the turbo filter, basically a short ram, and then I used fuel injector cleaner and it seems to have gone away so I think it was either my injectors or the filter

You really just ran it across the floor like that? You know you can remove those plastic pieces like the one on the floor to the left of the driver seat by just lifting up on it. Hide the wires under it.

lol no bro its not hooked up yet im keeping enough slack in the lines in the cabin so there not all over the engine bay and could possibly get caught on something thats why. Now when I get ready to install the turbo then I will hide everything and make it look cool lol this is only temporary im getting my last few parts this week when I get paid and then I will see if I have enough to get my exhaust work done since the guy I spoke to said he can flash my car for free. And then once I get more money I will buy a tactrix cable and a new clutch and just work on my car.

I highly recommend you wait to install your kit until you have the tactrix cable. You have a good base tune from me but as already pointed out it may or may not mesh with your car. Without the cable you will have no clue how your car is reacting to the tune and it would be a tragedy if something happened as a result of not being able to log with all the hard work you've done.
