Mine did the same thing like 2 days after my install, my "custom" fix was an alligator clamp connected to the small nub left and then flattened one of the handle ends so it would slide into the stock connection. Been working fine now for almost two years

Doesn't that fan look huge, compared to a slim fan? I think I want one!!!

Doesnt fit , on the Lancer the latch support bar is perfectly centered on the Evo its about 2 inches off compared to ours so that that fan fits .

Best thing to do is get a 12 inch Fal shrouded puller to bring down temps !

I was thinking I'd get one of them big spal fans that are like 4 inches thick, but I had already bought 2 12" zirgo slim fans. I spoke with someone there, and they said if I hadn't opened my second one yet, they'd take it back and give me store credit. I mailed it in, and when they get it, I'm going to get a 14", the highest CFM they have. I measured and as a puller on the inside driver side, 14" will fit. There is like 14.8" and the fan is 14.5", maybe less now that I think about it....but it'll fit.

Also, I put my timing belt, tension-er, and water pump in this afternoon, the water pump I pulled out had a real bad squeak to it, and felt really "sloppy", but who knows. Anyway, I'm letting it sit for a bit so that the dab of RTV I used around it can fully cure, then I'll take it out for a spin tomorrow and see if it made any difference on the heat. I have full temp logs of temps all over the place, so I will know if it did make a difference.

Also, when you take your water pump out, all of your coolant dumps out...not just a little. I had thought about and figured, if a lot of coolant comes out, I'll just put this tub here under it.....anyway, long story short, garage floor had quite a bit of coolant spread across it.

Oh, my boost gauge sender broke too...so, hate that, but what can you do...I'm gonna contact gloshift since the gauge is a piece of S anyway, and see if they will replace it warranty style, since the gauge sits at -3 when the car is off, and with the sender unplugged it bounces around all over the place.

No warranty on the gauge...-3 is "within acceptable range" as far as they are concerned I think, so I'm going to try and drill out the boost sender and see if i can screw a nipple into it. If it doesn't work or breaks, then I'm buying AEM boost gauge.

Car hasn't overheated near like it did before. Flushed coolant when doing water pump/timing belt, and it has run generally 10 degrees cooler....still does get pretty hot in 110 sitting in traffic.

This could be why I've been having some issues with overheating...

Oh! and I fixed my boost gauge, just used a dremel to trim the nipple base down so it's about 1/2" of the same length plastic. Got some fuel line hose, and it snugged over it, then cinched it up with a lil mini hose clamp. Seems to work perfect again....more or less, even though the thing reads a little low. Still, it's there just so I'll know if something breaks.

2 bits of news. 1, if I haven't told you, "silencers" rob power like little son's of ....well, here is a graph to get the idea. The red line that is higher, then drops down, then gets back up is without the silencer. I had some knock right there where the HP and torq dropped, so it pulled some timing and I lost power. and 2 is that I read some stuff by john bradley, and it helped me get my car to not go wicked lean when it's cold and I take off from a stop....anyway, lovin it...can't wait to get the bigger radiator fan and aluminum radiator....gonna be a lot of fun.

I put a post on that thread steven linked even if it is old its better than starting a new one. I asked for the measurement between the front support where the rad is mounted on top and the engine facing side of the core. If its 2 1/4" or less I should be ok to use. If its more then Im screwed since my forge wga arm at its closest point is about 2 1/2" away :-/

hmm...so, it doesn't sit up against the radiator support though I don't think, it has a slight gap where there is some foam. Still, I will measure mine as well, and see if our manifolds sit at different depths or something, although they shouldn't since we're both speedcorps.

Also, my cold startup stuff is totally sputtery, but I'll work it out at some point here. Speed Density is HAAARD!!!!
