Focus RS
exactly
for 130 000 I would get a Porsche GT3 slightly used.
For me sounds mentally ill to pay 120-130K +tax etc for a mustang, period.

neh. only for sale purpose I would get an old car. I am not that type. I don't really care old cars unless its a Ferrari
I think one of the most beautiful sport car ever made:
I think one of the most beautiful sport car ever made:
they did it for a cheaper market, and they didn't sold it with a V10 or V12's But still the design etc is just amazing. They named it after Enzo Ferrari son Dino Ferrari.
it was a price range of 911's. this car is amazing in person. this is worth to buy in my book even when its old. and def its a keeper.
As many here, we have Evo, and more than one car.
Cars are durable, and enthusiasts build/rebuild out of passion and project realization goals.
Thus extend far out potential service life of a car.
With so many options beyond classical 1-car/person upgraded every 5-10years once its reliability/service life command, we tend to buy new/new-to-us cars out of desire/passion, not need.
Makers try to lure us into new models, with new designs & features.
I consider us Evo owners especially lucky because the Evo 5-X is chassis/power train that transcends time better than most ever made:
Chassis is easily optimized on set of Ohlins & sways
Brakes are great, set of pads&cooling ducts go long way
Engine and rest of power train is epic
With cars growing richer in infotainment, safety, and requirement to base niche models on high-volume base models, come compromises.
I sense most of us looking forward to new models evaluate the eventual purchase with clear goal of exceeding the sport potential of present model.
Best exemplified by Z06 clearly advanced in all performance and daily utility aspects,
Similarly Ferrari 430->458->488
Porsche same since ever to reaching amazing performance with present Boxster 718 & 991.2 models
However the same cannot be said for other automakers.
STi clearly has not raised the bar.
BMW M2/3/4 although capable continue to be less backroad/track outright handling/putting power down capable than expectations,
Audi is only now moving away from safe handling
FRS/BRZ GT86 is chassis of the future, when used cars can be built up into cost conscious projects
Nissan 350/370 was always Japanese Camaro, compromised by weight (more humble origins)
This Focus really speaks to us.
I am sure aftermarket &enthusiasts will make it into awesome machine.
But most of us are not looking for lateral moves, we are looking for clear step forward best demonstrated in my mind by Z06/Ferrari 4-series/Porsche,
And I don't see that offered by anybody at the moment, something that allows me to for go faster, more comfortable, better in most ways, than mildly modified Evo.
Let's face it: anybody in this forum is here because they modify cars, so stock to stock is only starting point.
New VW/Audi 2.0 with 6speed/DSG modified by APR with Stage 3 or 3+(upgraded fuel pump & injectors) consisting of complete turbo system upgrade to EFR7163 is exception in today's market:
DSG GTI/Golf R/Audi S3 will run 0-100mph in 7.5 seconds, with quarter mile time of low 11s at 125mph on pump fuel!!!
It's exceptional new power train looking for Evo-like AYC Torque Vectoring handling.
Golf R is very nice hot hatchback.
With APR stage 3 package, it needs guru to setup Haldex to drive with the rear to be amazing, and clear choice.
This performance is on stock powertrain.
Perhaps we'll find that Focus is capable of similar performance with clever sorting of rear diff and turbo upgrade?
Hope so.

Undoubtedly there will be some fast Focus RS before long. I wonder if Ford/Mountune will offer the mechanical rear diff from the Focus RS RX to replace the twinster unit. http://handi.tech/ford-focus-rs-rx-s...rice-launched/
