from what I gather (didn't look into it too much), there's a specific design fault or something that causes cylinder 3 to go out, not really that the engine in general isn't strong enough to handle it.

Yay! Internet rumors!

Local track guy been running a 15 ecoboost on ethanol mixtures and +100wtq for the last year with no issues on track.

Couple others been tracking them with tunes with no issues on 91 octane.

Guess they didn't get the internetz memo...

But it happened to 4 cars on the internetz, it must be a major design flaw.

Hey, did you hear about those weak evo transfer cases that are blowing up in all the Evos? How about those weak stock pistons in Evo 8's?

I caught a last second pic of this in Italy this winter. I had to ****** my phone back from my wife who was taking pics of trees and crap Almost missed it! It was heading up the mountain towards Asiago. Very slippery as it had just began to snow HARD. Saw several FWD cars just spinning trying to get up the Mt. and a few pulled over to put on chains.

This was taken on the switchbacks of SP349

to be fair, I only heard about 1 on the interwebz, but he posted that his dealer told him ford was seeing quite a few of those so the warranty process was gonna take a bit longer cause they're trying to figure out whats happening. but this is hearsay, so it could be complete bs...

its obviously not an issue that affects all ecoboosts as there are a lot of them running with lots of power over stock

So this summarizes every thing wrong with this thread.

You post this:

Then, when called out on it, you post:
