I am glad that Ford built the RS and brought it to the US. For years, the USDM would get screwed on cars.

Everyone is different. To me, the Ford RS is in the same universe as the Evo. AWD, turbo4, etc. I already have an Evo. The only thing that would interest me beyond the Evo 8/9 is an earlier model Evo like the Evo 4/5/6 or an RSti conversion.

I hope the Focus RS turns out to be a great car. All I am trying to say, is after dumping absolutely silly amounts of money on modifying my Evo, I don't plan on doing the same on a similar platform. Been there, done that.

ANywho, I'll watch this thread with curiosity as the Focus RS platform develops.

Same here. It seems great stock and I'd leave it stock, so I couldn't care less of its potential nor breaking point.
I really like it.

Everything with an OEM turbo needs intake/exhaust/intercooler/tune

That is very true.

Looking, forward to this on my DD...but I need to finish the Evo first.

But, N54 = #TwoTurbos

It may very well could be though. OEM's operate the turbocharger right in the efficiency range of the map, so it's discharge isn't going to be overly hot. Combine that with someone that drives the car like it's a camry and you could very easily end up with condensation in the charge piping and intercooler in humid environments. But who really knows since we'll never get a real explanation from ford.

The first gen DSM's, 14b turbo and tiny intercooler located where and about the same size as our oil cooler would condense and pit/hole the intercooler piping. So, I wonder what size has to do with it.

i think that is normal for a performance car, and an enthusiasts for daily driver. The car should be bulletproof at that level.

STI with the lame 2.5 wasnt the case.

Nah. The Evo is my toy. Anything I drive other than that get left alone. The exception being lowering and wheels, if it's a non-performance-oriented car.

I'm not much for common sense when it comes to cars (LOL), but I gotta draw the line at modding more than one car.

Wut? STIs with just a tune, exhaust, intercooler, and other bolt-ons is pretty much bulletproof. Or at least it was until Subaru decided to **** around with the stock tune and start using ringlands made out of glass or paper.

Pre-2008 STIs don't suffer from many problems with bolt-ons. It's passed that novice level that they ****ing fall to pieces or require you to re-mortgage your house to build.
