True, but that's also in conjuction with setup. You've basically removed rear grip to balance the front, its what we all do. But in stock trim, without the help of transition, I'm guessing its an understeering car.
Watching a friend drive their BS RS, fairly accomplished drivers in their STU Evo (the Mikko's), it seems like they just never let the thing being in steady state and always toss it around.

I once owned a couple GM cars with neutral steer (second generation TA). They were neutral steer with street tires and neutral steer with snow tires. Come to a corner, pivot, catch it and off in a new direction. Lane changes were similar to the Evo on the OEM tire. The Feds wouldn't allow such a car to be sold to the public nowadays. Was fun.
One day I realized I was pulling onto the highway in front of an oncoming car. I guess I forgot to look. With the car barely moving I snapped it 180 degrees and disappeared in the direction I came from. I was telling this story to a friend who owned the same model vehicle and he said, "I've done that too." So, drift mode before we knew what to call it.
Back then tires weren't anything like they are now, it was all chassis. The original goal was to make the car out handle a Porsche. I don't know if they succeeded but as the years went by GM kept decreasing the size of the rear sway bar. I think they were wanting under steer.

TL;DR - Car got much faster with only coilvers and wheels/tires. Pretty much like any other car...lol.
I wonder if they're still having issues with the AWD and just not talking about it.

They caught a lot of flak for relating their RDU issues. They were accused of having a vendetta against the car. Up until that point it was still the Jesus car. After the vorschalg "Revelations" it seemed that subsequent reviews were more accurate with respect to ride and handling.

As far as I know, Mishimoto has done the most extensive review of what it takes to keep the RDU on:

Cool that mishimoto did the R&D on that. Now just wait until another company copies their stuff, but uses real coolers...lol
