The whole roll bar/harness bar/bucket seat/hans/trackhotboi argument is as old as the 50,000 "what oil should I use?" threads that are created every day.
People that state a rollcage should be in any car that sees the track forget that 98% of the people that do track days don't trailer their car, nor do they have any interest to.
At least this roll bar is probably putting the harnesses in the correct position for his seat.
That and an anchor point. If we didn't need it to anchor, then a harness bar could be used to get the right angle, as it's originally intended.
Not having rear seats is a bummer because we gotta go full race car just to keep from sliding around in our seats
MCS back from service and reinstalled. I also bled the coolant since I hadn't yet when I installed the turbo. BMW's are funny with their service modes.
I cannot wait to get this thing back on track with the aero.
I guess anyone following this is also on SupraMKV.. but my wheels/tires/rock guards/brake pads/brake fluids are all done. Setting up the TPMS was painless, which surprised me. Can't wait to push the car a bit and see how it does.
So... I ripped apart the interior to install my rollbar and....uhhh... it didn't go as planned...
Bar is way too close to the seat and too low for proper harness angle. It was made a couple inches shorter than what I requested. The biggest issue was that the top joints where welded on the wrong way so there is no way to get the top bolt in to join them properly. lol. Someone did an oopsie. The good part is that the guy was quick to respond and is making me a whole new bar with zero questions asked.
I like that the one company is selling their roll bar for about $2,000 shipped right now.... But I'm also deathly afraid of getting in there and finding out something similar.

Lol, that’s what this is. The straight horizontal is the custom part.
Well, crap. I'm 5'6", so maybe the bar will fit okay. I'm not asking to have anything done special, so hoping it would fit okay. I guess it's always a risk when buying something pre-made.

The normal version has the bar bent back like the photo below. You'll be fine. Looks like we are going to move back to the bent back bar on mine anyway.
Thought you guys might get a kick out of this. Left the Supra at home, grabbed my truck and trailer, and headed down to woodland Hills California. After selling the Aston and the Evo, I was thinking what to do with all the money in my savings account..... Then, fortuitously, somebody hooked me up with the dude selling a car I have wanted for about 40 years now. I guess I don't need to worry about naming this one.
The whole way home, everywhere I stopped, people wanted to know where it was from, what its story was, where it was going... All ages, races, and ethnicities. It really started to renew my hope in humanity. I couldn't believe the amount of early to mid 20-year-old people that were digging this car.
All the graphics are hand-painted which explains the poor spacing of the numbers on the door lol soon to be fixed.
