New Tacomas are over 6,000 lb., but those trucks are sluggish with no trailer. You’ll definitely be over 4,000 rpm on grades. I have a Trailex and have owned a few over the years. Keep your eyes open and you’ll pick one up for under 50% of the new price.
damn!. ct-7541 fits evos right? it's a weird thing, how all the trailer companies hide the trailer prices/have no msrps on them. what's up with that?

Trailex posts prices. I sold a ct-7541 a few years ago for what I paid used - just over $3k. I have a ct-8045 now so I can carry my much wider Camaro too.

i know this is about rigs, but what trailer company are people going with? featherlite seems common, trailex is so expensive..but damn their trailers are 800-900 lbs
I knooooow, I want one so bad lol. Would really help with my 5.3 gasser in terms of towing. Eventually will get one.
Old photo but best one ive got on the trailer. u guys see Futura trailers round much up there? they seem to ship them out by the container load like twice a week heading for your shores.
We loved our 15' Touareg TDI till they ***t it up with the emissions change. Ive heard they fixed the tune a bit now but ours had horrible surging especially cold. But when we did tow with it it was great and go about 20mpg still.
My last track day was almost a year ago when it was cut short by catastrophic turbo failure. I limped home and decided to give the track day thing a break until I could get a proper tow rig. I also needed to let my wallet recover from a string of failures. Oh, and I also need a new tune because I don't trust my last one anymore. Well last Sunday I picked up a new F-150 XL. It's got a V8, 10 speed auto, tow package, and little else, but I got zero percent financing and the dealer agreed to add factory cruise control an no additional cost. Next steps are a camper shell and removable awning and of course a 16 foot trailer.
Depending on trailer, you may want to add airbags in the rear while you're in there doing the camper shell. Had a work package shorty 07 silverado for years and years, had to add a real trailer brake controller, bags, and sway-away for my heavy open trailer loaded up. Also LineX wouldn't hurt.
I want to add air bags to my F150 also just because I know more weight needs more spring to have the same control.
We sold the RV and now looking for an enclosed trailer. Trying to keep to around 20k for an aluminum and well finished but not sure what we'll need for length. 20 or 24 ft... shorter would be better for storing and maneuvering but more storage is nice too.
The factory air ride on my 1/2 ton Ram is amazing for load leveling with the added tongue weight but is also a garbage system in colder temps as in under 30 degrees, whoops!
For an enclosed I'd think 24 is the minimum if you plan to throw a toolbox in there tires generator etc. And even without that stuff strapping down might be tricky. I'd like to eventually upgrade to an enclosed setup but then seems I'd want a 3/4 ton diesel so its a slippery slope.
