This one is a US Marshall's auction, so, one can only fathom the.....situation.....to confiscate such a trailer. I tracked down the original owner and they're all specE30 dudes, hence the stripes. I think a Nascar my struggle to fit on the lift but what I love about this one is it's flat both front and rear of the end of the lift - so the splitter/diff can literally hang out while you lift it up to strap it all down kinda deal. What I don't like is the sheer lack of garage storage areas. But then you look at the head room in the goose and you kinda forget about it lol.

It can go one way or the other right. If it was an RV, it'd have to be a freightliner chassis but a real one with the semi looking front end so that you can peel the fiberglass all the way back to work on things plus the towing capacity near 20k. So you're "standard" 24' enclosed or stacker works nicely with the pleasure cruiser in the stack. 250 for the RV, ~60 for the trailer. On the other side you have a bigger trailer with quarters and a nice truck that you can disconnect. 80k for truck, 100k for trailer. But to use it for anything OTHER then track becomes a questionable venture. If the family was into camping i'd go the Freightliner route. If not I'd go the trailer route, less "RV" to maintain.

you have to factor in other towing needs. If you get an rv to tow you still may need a pickup to tow a utv, tractors, materials, etc.

these are all classic first world problems

yea i do get jealous at your guys abundance of cheap land and housing etc over there. a 100x70 shop would be amazing

It makes sense too as you guys would have a lot further to go on occasion than we do the further most we go is a 5 hour drive. I do like the concept of a trailer/RV setup where you can camp at the track etc a few of the guys do it now. I live 20min from our 2 most commonly used tracks so for me it wouldnt be logical as i can just go home.

It would definately be a cool lifestyle!

what is land going for where where you’re at?

Dallas and I were talking about this a few months back. In my area (boise/meridian Idaho) a 1/4 building lot in a very regular neighborhood is selling for $180 - 200k. There is a lot in a nice neighbor hood listed for $1.2M that is .86 acres.

The average home price last month was $434k - it’s crazy for lil old idaho.

It's a sellers market right now. Home owners have pulled back their listings for financial or Covid reasons so the demand is the same but the inventory is super low. So prices have sky rocketed.

Also banks can't foreclose on people which is restricting supply.

in Auckland where i am, for an average 4 bedroom house on say 600 square metre (5/32 of an acre approx) section in an average middle class neighbourhood your talking $1m - $1.4m. About $600k - $800k for the same thing in a bad neighbourhood.
If you want say 5 acres within an hours drive of the city youd be looking at $2mil plus easy.

Thats in nzd, 1nzd is worth 0.73usd at the moment. so 1mil = 730,000usd

Is that 730k with a house? We're buying a 1.5acre lot thats all prepped to build in a small community for 200k. Its close to the main freeway but about an hour south of Portland metro. We'll be about 800k into the new house and shop with the land. We could have 5acres but it would just be further from the freeway.
