Tow Rigs, What do you have/use?
Very. My Sequoia only gets 10-11, though that's with hills.
Are the straps flipping up enough to kick the ratchets loose? I don't like mine flapping around in the wind, I'm afraid they'll start coming apart. My straps came with a set of velcro tabs to wrap around the extra. Very useful. As opposed to going through zip ties.
Are you saying you are using the tire nets and also four T hooks?

ah yes no hills for me. just flyovers and overtaking
I dont think the wheel straps(uhaul) has any strap section hanging out. i think the orientation of the ratchet release and the weight of the ratchet handle is enough to knock it out of locked position. i can try velcro thanks. also some reusable twist ties. I have to visit uhaul to try things out LOL
yup I used 4 t-hooks also, and tied knots around the ratchet handles. I also just cut my straps to the minimum for the rental trailer d-rings to save some time

I have towed with a lot of combos,
08 Jeep Grand Cherokee CRD (diesel) & Open aluminum trailer (5000lbs) - This was awesome. Towing across country the thing never has to downshift and can accelerate up hills ~18mpg
2015 Touareg TDI & Open alum trailer - Same but nicer to be in by a long shot. ~20mpg
2015 27ft Class C & Open alum trailer - God aweful even with suspension mods. Needed a trac bar to stablize the rear. Slow up hills, 40mph ish. ~8mpg
2019 F150 EB Max tow & Open alum trailer - Tows well but honestly not as good as the touareg. Rear suspension too soft, and leafs you can feel moving. Bed space was nice but honestly not really better than hatch room. ~12mpg
2019 F150 EB Max tow & Enclosed alum trailer (8000lbs) - Tows fine, pulls up hills nice, no problem at all really. But visibility around trailer is god awful as you'd expect. ~9mpg
2022 39ft Super C & Enclosed alum trailer - Super C just don't care about the trailer. Its ~8-9mpg with or without it and handles the same. It is YUUGE tho, 67ft long down the road. Getting around you really have to think ahead.
I would 1000% recommend an SUV for towing a light trailer. Its impressive how much you can fit in the hatch plus filling the car with stuff if needed. Wife and I did a 3500mile trip the long way to lincoln (Solo Nats) camping in a Tent and BBQing out of a cooler.
Next trip to Lincoln was in the Class C and even though they're built like crap, it made life so much nicer along the way. And I could fit that with the open trailer in places I had no reason being. If I was single or traveling alone, Id be in a short Class C (or baby Super C) and the shortest/lightest enclosed I could make work.
For family, definitely need the space we have now. But the price is steep both in dollars and flexibility.

A modified Touareg TDI is the beez kneez. 35+mpg and 500wtq. I just got another one in with the delete done already, man the pedal is addictive.

I've tried to find one of those.. but with no luck. What is "deleted" for those of us that don't speak German?
Interesting. What I liked about the u-haul trailer is I only needed nets on the front. The car couldn't move either way with them in place. I was so impressed, I bought a set for my current trailer. I just have to get the e-track laid down so I can use them. Two nets with two ratches = done. Super sweet set up.
if anyone needed to rent, there is a huge difference in price if you rent "in-town" (return to the same store, $54/day) and "drop-off to another location" (CAN'T return to the same store, guessing around $40-45/day). i haven't totally figured it out yet but it could depend on how badly the other store needs the equipment. I lost the trailer I reserved due to miscommunication and they wont rent me the several auto transports onsite because "those are for drop-offs" they said. so after I calmed down I told them I will return it somewhere else (there's 10 within 1 mile) and my total was ~$35 cheaper for a 3day rental
12's about what I get with the sequoia while trailering, +/- 2 for tailwind or headwind. The sequoia's got other benefits too, parents are finally seeing the value in having a huge car. they've asked to borrow it a few times already
i'd love to get a lighter trailer and switch to a grand highlander hybridmax when the time comes but that's way way down the line. new sequoia sucks so hard with the rear beam + hybrid battery making the 3rd row and trunk space a joke with the shelfs. should have done one or the other, and i like the idea of a hybrid giant suv. new sequoia also lost the torsen diff in the t-case that the gen2 had. it went backwards in so many regards for a car that less than 0.1% will offroad

even though the uhaul trailers are well maintained. they seem to rely on customer feedback to replace those wheel straps. I wouldnt trust those (and the ratchet) being under the sun and rain 100% of the time(also what if you have an air leak). the first one I rented had a broken strap which i discovered only after loading a car. they replaced it in 10mins but its quite a hassle when youre on a tight schedule. i like that you can really put a lot of tension on wheel straps with their ratchet setup before you start using the t-hooks. its a bit hard to put on tho if your car is lowered.

Check out magnaflow for cats. https://www.magnaflow.com/collection...alifornia=true. The "cali" ones are 3x, but they produce lots of different levels.

I had a local shop Tell me $1,800 installed for both. I have been going through all my messages trying to find out which place that was.
I like it, I just wish my truck was wide enough to fit with my legs straight.

. those uhaul straps flapping in the wind is giving me ulcers. they always come loose! I will ziptie the rachets next time. i use 4 t-hooks as well
