3) Is this the Koyo radiator people are getting for their IX? Any better options, mainly trying replace the OE rad before it breaks on me

Thanks!
Did the Evo VI one because it moves the hose from over the exhaust manifold: https://www.maperformance.com/produc...-koyo-hh030939. Need an Evo VI upper radiator hose to get it to work. May also need a slimmer after market fan due to the radiator being thicker than stock.

Is oil starvation a serious issue on a stock evo 8/9 on track? Should I overfill the engine a bit?

If you are running a 100tw tire, or better, I'd say yes.

Interesting. Is the picture on that link correct? Do you have the 53mm one? Which fan did you get?

Everything sub $600 is made overseas. Manufacturers don't care what the welds look like so long as they don't leak.

I'm also on stock airbox. I will need to convert to cone filter before I can consider anything that relocates the hose. I really hate that swooshing sound from the bov

Yes it is especially on long right hand turns, overfilling can help slightly but youll probably push most of it back out. issue is the oil gets stuck in the head and cannot get back to the pan, the pickup for the oil pump is on the right side of the engine so once the oil gets sucked up and stuck in the head combined with g force pulling the remaining oil away from the pan you just run out of oil to pump. overfilling can help but generally the engine will push the extra oil out.

oversized pan definitely helps, racefab do a nice one. but the only real fix in the long run is drysump. Depends on the characteristics of the circuits your driving on
