Time Attack Advice
definitely not ams, do they still even do stuff for 8/9s? i have a racefab per the link i had included, it's the most well known but i think there are a few others.
people running regular hpde/mild class time attack won't go dry sump, i would say you won't need dry sump until u go aero or r-comps, 200tw you should be ok with racefab - been running for a long time like that with no issues
Yes it is especially on long right hand turns, overfilling can help slightly but youll probably push most of it back out. issue is the oil gets stuck in the head and cannot get back to the pan, the pickup for the oil pump is on the right side of the engine so once the oil gets sucked up and stuck in the head combined with g force pulling the remaining oil away from the pan you just run out of oil to pump. overfilling can help but generally the engine will push the extra oil out.
oversized pan definitely helps, racefab do a nice one. but the only real fix in the long run is drysump. Depends on the characteristics of the circuits your driving on

that's odd - anyway, it's the racefab one, we had a groupbuy for it a couple years back. holding up well - my motor did go because of some fuel relay weird thing, but zero signs of oil starve. kiggly hla is also a must if u dont have it
yeah I saw that kiggly thing. weirdly expensive and that noone's copied it lol. I'll look into it. thanks

Yep if your stock power and on street tyres youll be okay as long as you dont have a stupid long right hand sweeper thats relatively high speed. We have 2 here on the same track that blows stock evos up quite happily even on street tyres haha.
Ooh forgot about kiggly, these are a good mod also worth the investment. They restrict how much oil gets up into the cam area which helps to keep some of it down in the sump.
not stock power here, fwiw about 360whp, 25psi stock turbo but the kiggly, crank scraper, and pan do the job for me. only aero is stock wing, dont even have the front lip. 200tw, a number of long right handers but nothing too bad i dont think, not too much with a long sustained g-load, apparently the setup manages ok

Do you do any logging? would be interesting to see if you get any pressure loss at all.
my motor blew in april due to a fuel pressure relay line failure, and we opened it up and there was zero sign of oil starvation (because that's what was first suspected). that was good enough for me.
and from MAP, SPAL: https://www.maperformance.com/produc...16477054074950. Will need the mounting brackets as well.

I'm doing Streets of Willow which doesn't have any turns quite like that so I think I will be fine..
Tire tech wasn't nearly what it is today. Any evo remotely fast around Tsukuba has a dry sump.
