local Pittsburgh Meet
both of these actually made me laugh out loud
Has anyone noticed something strange when changing the oil in an evo for the first time? On my VIII I had mitsu do the first one. Anyhow on the X I found out that the cars actually come with JDM oil filters different than the ones we can get here. MD356000 is the part number. It's a much heavier filter and looks a lot better. Apparently we cannot get these exact filters. I should've just left that filter on there. Oh well, no big deal. I just found it unusual.
I went with the cobb because i thought it would be easy to program the maps on a tuner program, but then i realized that the maps are preset and are difficult to deal with. At some point i would like to learn how to mess with the maps, but for now i just want to get a decent one on there. I am up for anything, a dyno facility would be nice, but like you said there are really none that close by (another reason for the cobb). I will take some pictures and post them on here, and anytime you want to meet up I am down.
Anyone have any more ideas on changing the air/fuel (dyno, email flash, or cobb map) and boost settings easily?

what part of pittsburgh are you in? a lot of us local guys have ecuflash and a tactrix cable, so if you get a map that requires that combination of hardware/software one of us could probably be able to help you load it no problem. only usually takes a minute or two.
[quote=MondoBongo;5773049]you know, i never actually looked on either of my cars. i had the dealer do the first oil changes on both. got a picture of the filter?[quote]
I can take a few. I'll get it out of the garbage.

Is this really that impressive? It's not a stock turbo. Curt Brown was close to this with a completely stock turbo

It's not.
Before long someone will make a better turbo upgrade and the green will join the white rabbit and Xede in the parts bin of history.
FOR ALL CART TRACK ATTENDEES
last annoying reminder from me.
i am going to head up to beaver run tomorrow night to do the early tech and early registration. i will probably be leaving the pittsburgh area around 4:30pm if anyone would like to roll out with me, hit me up and let me know. you will need to bring your helmet with you to tech.
for race day don't forget!
You need a long sleeve shirt and long pants to race!
as well as your drivers license, current inspection, current registration, and your helmet.
i am going to try to be at beaver as early as possible on sunday (around 7am) to help them with any setup they need to do. if anyone wants to caravan out with me, let me know. but we will probably need to meet up around 6:10am to make sure we get there early enough.
remember to bring your cash or check with you ($75 entrance fee, and $15 more if you are not an scca member).
cash if preferred, but if you would rather use a check they can be made payable to "Steel Cities Region, SCCA"

so let me know what you guys think about that.

bongo, I live in the north hills, Hampton township. Its right off route 8. If you and the majority think the tatrix cable and evoscan or another program is better then I can return the accessport and go for that. I have heard of jestr and his tunes but I couldn't find him online. I went with a company in Florida with the first run around. Thanks for the input, I will look into that.
Saw a black evo last night with temp registration in the rear window. Around 10 PM driving towards Giant Eagle in IRWN. made a left on got on to PA ave. had a jdm rear, cf front lip, cf side spats, cf rear left/right diffuser., exhaust, fmic and the plate started with gwz or something in that order.. Anyone know who that is? car looked nice, and was an 8
