Tim, as long as you have 50% of tire tread, doesn't matter what kind of tires so long as they aren't snows, and the same amount of pad material you are good to go. A fresh fluid flush would be the only thing I would recommend doing prior to running. Lightning is a very easy track to learn on, so it would be an excellent choice for a first event.

I'm toying with the idea of the 13th. I got to sort some things out first. Brakes is the major thing I need at this point.

My real issue is that money is getting tight with the monster overhaul of the house my wife's wants to do. I may have to put it off a track day until mid to later summer.

Damn, just realized I'm also registered for an advanced day w/PCA on 5/16-17, which is the monday and tuesday right after that Friday the 13th event. Doesn't look like I'll be able to make both so I'm going to stick with the one I'm already signed up for... sorry fellas.

I just need to bust my cherry like I did with autox last summer. I would like more aggressive pads though. I have brand spanking new brake fluid all ready to go.

 

Im going to just run e85 at lightening. Robert will be my fuel mule. They just switched it over and I'm on the ragged edge of leanness so I need to get through a few tanks first.

 

You cannot track on those ET500's, if that what you have in the car now..?
