Since were on the topic of brake pads and dust. Does anyone use a light duty pressure washer to remove it off the wheel? The standard hose isn't enough but 3000psi is deffinately way to much.

is this a serious question? or are u f-ing with us....

I use soapy water, sponge, and go to town scrubbing them - only use water hose for pre-rinse and post-rinse.

here is a good how-to vid...

A pressure washer would be able to spray them clean without any effort rather than actually cleaning them like you suggest.

You'd walk up spray and be done. For those of us that get bad brake dust after only 1-2 days of normal driving it would be super easy.

if your just removing the layer of brake dust - yea it works for a quick clean but does not get them clean like washing will

I have used pressure washers on my wheels and it never gets it off like actual washing does, it still leaves a residue behind. Unless you have some super sonic wheel washer that uses sonic pulses to blast the brake dust away.

I use my pressure washer with the adjustable nozzle to clean my car and my wheels. Granted when your doing the wheels you want to wash it and scrub, but it is nice to have pressurized water. Makes cleaning much easier.

Let's just say I deal with lots of brake dust. What I've found out is, alot of how hard it is to clean off depends on the wheels themselves. I have white enkie RC-T4's and they are a ***** to clean, Even with scrubing. Now my enkie NTo3's have a silver finish that literly can almost be sprayed off. I had another another set of enkie's that were the same finish and I loved it. Now it seems like the same finish as stock enkie wheels but for some reason they are hard to get brake dust off. I don't really understand what the deal is but it's almost like the NT's have Teflon or something in them.

If you figure out a way to get wheels clean without scrubbing please let me kno. It takes about 3 pushes of the brake pedal to get my wheels dirty.

No one wants to put up with the hassle, but waxing your wheels helps. Even on the inside of the rim, but its a lot of work.

To avoid brake dust I just cover the rotors in copper grease. Works great.

Yeah, I'm not the only evo going to hillclimb next weekend. There is another 8 and a X from MA entered. Also a guy that has a evo II, but looks as if he is racing a lancer?

This should be fun!
