Ok guys. Opinion time. My Voltex hood nightmares continue with DriveLine. I was told last week that my replacement hood would arrive late this week. This isn't the 1st time I was promised my replacement hood would arrive. Ok now 4 weeks later, I get a call from Eric and he says that the freight company finally started the claims process after 3 weeks. He says that when they decide on what to do he'll let me know and I can then choose to get a new hood or refund.

So if I go with hood, I'm going to wait another week on top of the few days it takes to make the final claim decision. I already have the money sunk into the hood, but I would still need to get it painted.

The other option is I say F***** it and get the refund. Honestly I'm pissed off at this point with them that I want me money back. I'll get $1200 credited back to my bank account. Down side is that I promised my current hood to a local member and I personally hate this hood. Had I known better, I would have kept my factory hood until I got the Voltex.

Opinions? I'm just pissed off.

Trade hoods with the local who wants your CF one provided they'll pay to paint it to match your car. That would be a good deal all around I'd think. Maybe to good and you should ask for a few bucks but I think you get the idea.

i totally understand your frustration, i've been through quite a few loops with vendors myself more than once.

that being said, since you're already paid and wheels in motion why not just hang on for it? the car will run without the hood (unlike my clutch/vendor issue ha), and while you may hate looking at what's on there, it will be freakin' sweet when a giant gorgeous slab of carbon fiber arrives on your doorstep.

i'd say just sit tight. it's a pain in the *** now, but when you get that hood i bet you will be a happy man.

at least you have an awesome new coated manifold to keep you busy until the hood arrives.

Sorry I stole your stock hood, Brant. The body shop might still have my mangled one laying around I could see if it could work for at least a little while?

Yeah, I don't know I was reading through the thread on J&S and some of it was just pretty ridiculous. Some kid named danl was just tearing into Jason for random crap. Somehow I guess he got ahold of my timing map from my old motor on 93 octane (I never sent it to anyone, I believe) and posted it and showed some pretty crazy timing values. I knew the tune was aggressive, now that I know more about tuning I realize how crazy it was, but thats besides the point. He was more mad at Jason for it than I was. I mean those guys are pretty cool, and yes I have had my differences with them, but that kid took things to another level. He basically had a vendetta against them... I hope all is going well for J&S, and I really have no hard feelings whatsoever, but I haven't heard from anyone there in a while, I even texted Jason a few days ago...

Just thought I would see if anyone else had read that craziness.

I think you know who danl is, just not by that name . He was on here until he was booted.

regardless of what you may think about the j&s situation (i'm not taking a stand either way on that in this post) danl is actually a really good guy. very sharp with his tuning knowledge.

pittspeed is a circus though, i don't know i've never really been a fan.

No, no. I am not saying he is a bad guy at all. I was just surprised to see so much hate and crazy **** being said about everyone on those boards. Truly the young and the modless.

Yeah, I have real side to pick with the J&S thing either. I don't wish bad things to them and I hope they could say the same for me. No news is good news I suppose.

Edit: I also don't see what there is to hate on with those pictures either.

Not your fault Jim. Just mad at the freight company and DL. I just don't like when I get blatantly lied to.

Yeah, it sucks when two companies have to fight over stuff for a client. Then the process takes forever, you have no idea what is going on and basically no one wants to pay the bill. That is why for most companies they stick with one freight company and make it their go to people so then the freight company wants their business, and will work to get it resolved fast so they don't lose a big client.

I would def. be giving someone some hell for going weeks and week without a hood... It has to be someones fault and it definitely isn't yours, but you are paying for it with all this downtime.

I was going to order the voltex front lip and splitter this fall too, but i've heard too many horror stories about driveline and their customer service, always passing the buck blaming their freight company, variables outside of their realm, etc.

Putting that aside the pieces are A+ quality.

AND why can't we get some hookers to do a charity car wash? Keep it classy..

Yeah, I ordered the JDM bumper from them and it was perfect and shipped in time. I guess when you really need them to respond that's when you run into trouble.

Sad thing is I intended to buy more things from them like the NT03 wheels and probably the Voltex Front Fenders. However after this experience, I won't be doing it.

My . 02, get the refund and go elsewhere.

You paid them to get it to you, this hasn't happened. Someone who THEY paid to provide a service for THEM screwed up, it's got nothing to do with you, that's their problem. . . Another one should be in the mail, or you should have a refund.

Thanks Brian. I made the original order on July 14 and here I sit.
Last thing I want is to get a another hood and something else happens to it and I'm out another month (or more). Just unacceptable.

Yeah, Driveline was great to me with the JDM bumper too. I guess on the special order Voltex stuff things get crazy, but I am with Brian on this one. Its on them to make the situation right with you, regardless of whos fault it is.
