The Ultimate 2009 Ralliart Thread mega merge
Sorry to bring bad news (maybe the poster was trying to keep your spirits up) -- the Ralliart almost certainly gets the shorter Evolution warranty, and not the longer mainstream Lancer warranty... but we can always hope they change their minds -- there's still time to give the Ralliart the warranty it deserves.
They had the cards at the Toronto show but I wasn't paying any attention to it.
Hopefully its not a typo error also.
Was ooogling at the GSR at the dealer last week, and beside it was the regular Lancer...too bad but I wish the '09 RA's had the widened body that the Evo has...that body is a beaut.
Does anyone know the weight difference b/w the X and the RA. Granted, the RA has a smaller turbo but all else being the same, it would seem the RA may be the sleeper in the mix and have a better AutoX or TT theme to it. Once a larger turbo and other goodies are added.
Weight is a killer..

As for Ralliarts in mid-April, it's good to dream, but as a general rule: don't trust dealers at trade shows. Watch for Mitsubishi to announce prices on the Ralliart -- at that point you can be fairly certain they're not more than two or three months off.
They seem to be saying different things in Canada and the US -- my guess is the US version will win, but here's hoping they'll give us the longer warranty, here in Canada at least.

I've visited a few Mitsu dealers here in VA and they haven't even heard of the 09 Lancer. One sales manager even started arguing with me saying that I must be thinking of the WRX (I mentioned it had a turbo). I'm considering next time I go I should bring a blue berry, or black berry, or burgandy berry, whatever those things are called that let you look at stuff on the internet, so after I pull up all the info and show it to them, I can beat them on the face with it.
Point being, I don't think there is any way it would be released in April. Time frame just isn't adding up. Not to say that I would not be thrilled to be wrong.

This sheds a little light on the modability of the Evo X MR with its SST:

Looks like Ralliart UK is not doing power mods to the SST-equipped cars. Apparently, the SST is not a roadblock in and of itself. It's just a question of how much Mitsu is willing to do without long-term durability testing.
