The official Evo X notchy/grinding transmission thread
Sometimes its difficult to get into 4th, shifting smoothly makes it feel the gate is full of old jelly LOL, shifting out of 4th as well.
my 3rd gear grinds sometimes as well when cold but im shifting between 2-3k rpm

On my new 2011 GSR 550 miles on it: I have a super hard time getting into first when it is cold and it really is more of a being locked out type of fashion, once it warms up 1 - 5 are just fine getting into, I tend to shift at or above 3k on the rpm range. Reverse though is a complete cluster.. no matter what it tends to lock me out all the time unless I go 2nd, 4th, Reverse. It is getting rather annoying.

It's normal unfortunately.
When I owned my 05 Evo VIII shifting was a bit notchy, but no grinding.
Just warm up your cars I guess before driving?? Because it looks like mitsu isnt doing a dang thing for you guys. Still though for a 35K car shifting should be like butter!

Found this while using google search engine. The problem I have is 1st to 2nd & 2nd to 3rd... Going from 2nd to 3rd being the worst. It doesn't matter how warm the car is, I could be in the middle of a 200mile drive and it still does it. When I shift into 3rd gear, the shifter feels like you're sticking it in a fan. You can hear it as well. Even with the clutch fully engaged, peddle to the floor, it will still do this. Now why would the shifter feel as if something is always grabbing at it when I shift into 3rd all the time??? Just got my car back from the dealer. They replaced the whole motor at 24K miles due to broke valves that locked up the motor. It shifted like this before the engine swap and is still doing it. I've drove many manuals in my life and I haven't had any do this to me before. I'll let my friends drive it and of course it doesn't do it for them. Seems to work that way when you're wanting someone to see something. The min I leave from them, it'll act up. Even when their in the car it won't do it. It's the most aggravating thing ever!
I actually have my car at the dealer for this problem and a SES light. They told me that they did duplicate the issue and have contacted Mitsubishi USA about the problem and are waiting for a reply from them on what to do next.
