RECALL- Manual trans Evo X's
The very first line on the letter is the VIN. If it matches your car - and I have no idea why else the letter would have been mailed to you - then your car is recalled.
Got the recall done, didn't notice much of a difference. Running an am clutch and so far it hasn't busted. I have to go back tho as the cruise control does not come on, the sensor under the clutch needs to be adjusted.
After the recall my car recently have idling issue. Idle will raise to around 3000rpm when I brake at traffic light. I think either they forgot the o ring inside the brake booster or not sitting in there good and causing vacuum leak. Have to take it back on this coming Thursday for a check up.
No, they did not take out my transmission. They opened up something while the car was on the lift. You could barely see the clutch (yellow) and said that's aftermarket. It was back in 2010 after I had the car for a couple months (bought used from a dealership). Didn't know aftermarket clutch was installed.
I got mine done and it was really low and soft, 10 miles later it was back to normal nothing different now.
I will also like to know if there is a way to adjust that engagement point??? i actually like it lower
(nvm i just read that this cant be done with the stock cmc)

I sent in the invoice and receipt for the CMC that I paid last year at a Mitsubishi Dealer.
-Got a phone message because there is a problem “of course”.
-I call and get an ignorant & rude lady informing me that they cannot refund anything because the replacement part was aftermarket…LOL it is not!!! after pointing out the OEM part number (2345A028) and that is exactly what I see on the invoice they had to put me on hold for ~10 minutes and come back to say that the new part number is different…of course it is, I have the OLD part number, you know, the defective one, the one that I paid for at the time; the new part number was not available… on hold again… Yes it “appears” to be ok now…
-But there is a new BS issue. It is an issue about the date…what? Why…some random BS about it was done this date the recall that date??? Uhmm what? On hold again…
-Now the date “appears” to be ok but everything needs to be submitted and reviewed…but who is this person that I am wasting my time talking to? They don’t know anything and cannot review or decide anything, but somehow they are finding issues after reviewing the invoice? On hold…
- Nevertheless there is another issue now….they can’t give me the refund until the recall is completed…I have to prove that the recall was done and I have to call again. Also after the recall is done they will “consider” a refund…LOL really???
So what I am guessing is: they will complete the recall…BUT the dealer will scrutinize the car and point out anything aftermarket, you know like lug nuts or a radio or tinted windows…therefore they will deny the refund.
Great job Mitsubishi Motors! I really don’t understand why this company is in trouble…

As annoying as that call was, that bit about not reimbursing you for prior work until after the recall is done is actually correct.
The rest is an interesting mixture of correct and incorrect. The date of when you had prior work done is relevant to whether they must reimburse you. However, whether an OE or aftermarket part was used is not a simple question (even if the issue doesn't apply here); it depends on whether the aftermarket piece has the same problem as the OE piece. If they decide that the aftermarket piece doesn't have the same problem, then they don't have to do the recall work, but must reimburse you. If they decide that the aftermarket piece also has the problem, they must do the recall and things gets complicated as to whether they owe you for the prior work.

Same here. Clutch engages within the first inch or so of pushing the pedal. Definitely higher than before. Also interested in how to adjust this.

Thanks for clarifying that. Guess I'm taking her in. Yay
