Exactly. Outlanders share our platform now, who cares if some other little SUV will soon. Why anyone would be against Mitsubishi diversifying, generating more revenue and basically becoming a stronger company with corporate tieups is beyond me.

I spoke with many Audi Tuners and I asked them about the AutoShifting in regards to the EVO. I was very surprised by the answer I got. They where telling me that the Sequential Transmission that they are going to use in the Evo will blow people away. It will be the quickest shifting car in the world. They shift even better than Ferarri. Not only will they shift fast but It will be able to take lot of HP and TQ. LOTS !!!!

As long as sharing platforms with Dodge I really don't care. American's cannot build a decent car to save their lives. Not Even one. If you look at the cars that the Europeans and Japanesse build America will need a life time to catch up. Who cares what they share. I read somewhere that Mitsubishi wants to work together with Audi on cars. I think that the Evo X will be a big step up for that to happen. Just wait and see good things will hapen for Evo and . I like the future.

I didn't see any "New Generation Technology" link/text, everything is in Japanese, (feel free to elaborate) but I did stumble across this paper model thing!

to the people that dont understand why mitsu is sharing a platform with dc. Why would they ditch a a platform that has already been in development for at least two years, imagine all the money that was spent, would it really make sense for mitsu to waste all that engineering. even if mitsu didnt engineer the new platform i am sure that the dc guys( srt/amg) can develope very good chassis and then mitsu takes it from there and puts there own twist on it.

You got it all wrong....IMHO...who wants to see drivers shift gears? How about that question?...racing "should be" driver' skill against another driver's skill...and not focused on shifting.....'cause anyone can miss a shift....so why not let the driver focus on racing the car instead of shifting through the gears....sequentials/fast shifting automatics will be the future anyways...but they're not perfevt just yet....give them 5 years or so.....

What's next, you'll be watching cars race without a driver ?
If that's progress than please, call me old school.

You were right. I checked the press release by Dave Schembri. It's 2007.

Regarding the DSG, it's just a "cheater" automatic. The dual clutch is actually multi plate and fluid filled, and therefore functions fairly similarly to a torque converter. It's less efficient than a regular clutch type manual transmission. It also requires good maintenance and because of the design has limited application in high torque engines. Another big shortfall with these types of transmissions is the automatic down and up-shifts that are typically jerky because of high or low revs, and are typically poorly timed. The only way I'd ever consider one is if it lets you totally over and under-rev by pushing some sort of button. I really hope the new motor will be as bulletproof, it's the one thing that could wreck it for enthusiasts.

hmm... I am not quite sure whether i buy into all that or not. It seems like it may be taking too much control out of the drivers hands. Reminds me of Mercedes and all their fancy electronics that only act to casterate what could be amazing sprts cars.
