Tiptronic is just paddle shifters mated to a regular old torque converter having auto tranny. Nothing like what they're talking about for any new Lancer.

Sorry about that. I meant to say no clutch pedal. Yes it does have a clutch, actually two. Thanks for clarifying Ike.

They didn't answer my questions either. I'll prolly save my money and get the Lancer then turbo it since they are using the same engine (B11).
Just because he didnt really mention the manual on the webcast doesn't mean it wont have it, it will. The showcase was for new technology, that's why he was going over the DSG, why would he highlight the mundane stickshift.

That's the thing with paddle shifts, it's very dependant on the system it is hooked up to and how the computers control that system. I highly doubt Mitsubishi will be stupid enough to not have MT versions of the Evo. Hopefully there will be something for everyone when it comes to the tranny options.

at the risk of starting a flame war... I will have to agree. Just like it was noted that this site attracts tuners... I thik the car itself attracts tuners. I could be wrong, but i doubt that Evo owners that tune are a 'small iota' of the lot.

Also, why the hell didn't that broadcast address that question? I'm sure a TON of people asked it. "will that block hold serious modifications?" I've seen IX's pushing over 500 AWHP, can an aluminim block really support that?... I wonder.

Do you honestly think an OE manufacturer will answer a question like 'is your all-new engine block modification friendly'? Really?

People, Subaru has been building aluminum blocks for years and tuners have been boosting them to great effect. What makes this any different?

Not that this matters but subaru has always gone higher displacement and lower boost. Meaning that their cars arent under as much strain as the Evo blocks are. I may be wrong but my opinion.

Mitsubishi put on a fantastic presentation. We are leaving the show soon and have a bunch of great pictures to sort through before posting them on our site along with our impressions of the reveal. Stay tuned.

i don't see many drawbacks to this car... as long as the headlamps stay HID, i won't have a problem with them loing the LED section...

we all knew those headlight would not make production anyhow... anyone get any info on pricing and different trim levels...?
