based on the WRX and STI owners i know, im assuming that more evo owners keep there cars stock. Im not sure how large a margin, but its an assumption pretty much.

On the other hand the evo insurance is higher than the sti despite the fact that the wrx is way more expensive to repair. So maybe insurance is higher due to the fact that more people mod the evo. Thus this could eliminate my assumption.

i hope i didnt sound dumb in that post

The reason the STI Is cheaper insurance is because it is less popular. Evo's are more popular (and more stolen and wrecked) Making them harder to insure. Has nothing to do w/ the mod amount. Sorry. My bro works for State Farm. Told me that a long time ago.

No. Good input. as for my original question, I guess with a good approach the aluminum block will do just fine. The interior of the X is indeed more people friendly then the current VIII and IX. I can't remember how many times I've got s**t about driving a car that doesn't have 'cruise control'. Either way, I guess we're just going to have to wait and see. When it hits the streets, we'll see if it's worth trading up for.

I'll keep my 06 IX MR.

That thing is just straight up fugly.

The huge hole in the front is rididculous looking, and the interior is crappy "imo"..
Also the rear turn signals look like a mazda. And c'mon, it's an auto stick = crappy..

"Only thing i like about the whole car is the LED mirrors."
although the paddle shifters are cool and it has cruise control.

other than that, I'm so glad i got my IX MR..
To each his own i guess.
IMO they could've done alot better on the styling..
but whatever, im not buying it, so it doesnt matter either way..

i guess a twin clutch "auto-stick" as you call it is crappy...?

some of you guys need to take your head out of your ***... there will be a MT for those "purists" that feel they have to have that 3rd pedal... give me a twin clutch paddle system anyday of the week...

Diesel is back! Long time no see!

Anyhow, I agree, but everyone is a critic on this site.

I think we need a new thread comparing just the photos of the car with the 20" rims, and the one that looks to be a production X. Did Mitsu slip up, or were these photos leaked to satisfy the keen of eye???

You're assuming wrong. I came from the Suby community and a pretty large percentage of STI owners mod and an even larger percentage of Evo owners mod. The modability alone is why a lot of people chose the Evo rather than the STI. The WRX is a mixed bag since you have many non enthusiasts that own the car, and most of the enthusiasts that get the WRX would rather have an STI or Evo but can't afford it. Less money to spend on a car usually means less money for mods.

Your bro is wrong, the STI outsells the Evo. The reasons for the Evo being more expensive to insure are various insurance ratings including frequency of theft and lower safety ratings.

I'm sure a lot of people are thinking this but just don't want to say it, I know i kind of feel this way so I'm going to get it off my chest. Some of us, especially those who have only recently picked up their evo (for me after years and YEARS of earning it both as someone who can afford it and understand enough to drive it) are a bit vexed of now realizing a whole new engine, interior and body style released into a new model.

I'm glad I could get that off my chest and also say this. I'm happy with my car. I'm glad I bought it. for better or for worse, it's best for me know. Also, as we all know, the Evo X isn't even't going ot be in a show room for quite sometime, by the time it does hit, some may want to trade up and some will keep there moded VIII's and IX's that are most likely than not going to pushing out more power and torque that a stock X anyway.

But I digres... a part of me still ailes the inability to experience the AYC of the JDM evo IX let alone the S-AWC of the X.

the chronograph will not make production, you can bank on that...

the orange glow you're crying about will not make production either...
