Not sure what the big deal is with the listed disadvantages on the German Wiki. All it says is that:
- DSG is more expensive to manufacture than a traditional manual trans
- DSG is more complex and therefore may be more likely to fail
- DSG weighs more
- DSG is slightly less efficient than a manual trans (but more efficient than a slushbox; listed under advantages)
- DSG is not for the meek ...e.g. weekend mechanics will find it difficult to tinker with.

With regard to American cars. Yes they suck.... they suck bad. The vette is the only one with an independant rear that doesn't completely blow.... but even it still has leaf springs. It was funny watching the Stig take the new Z06 around the TopGear track. It posted a great time.... but OMG was it all over the place. Probably one of the sloppiest runs around their track I've ever seen. The problem with American stuff is they build cars that are only as good as they need to be. Most ppl don't know the difference. In contrast, I find the European and Japanese performance cars are models of engineering and excellence. Their suspensions are lightyears better, their engines make far more hp per liter than their American counterparts, and I think the difference in quality is night and day as well.
With regard to skidpads.....1.08 on a skidpad means jack ish. Actually, just about anything regarding a skidpad is just stupid IMHO. Skidpad does not = real world road course. I've got a Road&Track right here where they ran an Evo9 MR against a Porsche Cayman S. The Cayman S, widely regarded as one of the best handling sports cars in the world, spanked the Evo in most of the instruments tests... especially the skidpad. However, when they put them on the road course, they were neck and neck with the Evo clocking the fastest lap of the day.
The mere mention of Tercel here just makes me ROFLMAO

A lot of questions in this thread have already been answered for one the production vehicle will have 18"s and not 20"s.
I would love to have one, and intend on buying one...Maybe even keeping my VIII
