What scares me is that picture of the engine bay. Do you see that spaghetti? Compare that to the current IX. They are trying to hide it behind a gay plastic cover (ala Chrysler.) I had a rear mount turbo before, never again unless the car really kicks MAJOR a$$. Impossible to work on without taking apart the entire frickin' car.

Agreed. I thought the same thing, about it looking kinda like a mazda, i dont think the X is going to stand out very much.
I dont like how toned down the wing and fender flares.

Whats the specs on the motor and drive tran? I really hate rear mounted turbos.

ugliest thing i have ever seen. JUST LOOK AT THE FRONT. wtf, can you say WASTED SPACE. The hood looks like sled, or oversized like my dad caddy XLR. the factory grey hood bumper is absoloutely in the wrong place, too big, and looks cheap as ****. Looks like they were trying to build a fence on the front end. The headlight are too small and off centered. The outside gets a 1/10

the inside is too technological, I personally dont want a space car, infact, i bought and evo because I didnt want to by an is300 or m3, now with the interior becomming like these cars, i might just have to abonded my love.

Omg this sucks. That is ugly as sin. I was plannin on buying an evo or an sti in a year. If the evo looks like that im going for the sti. But now toyota is buying subaru so i dont know whats gonna happen there. And bbs just went bankrupt so the sti doesent have those sweet gold rims anymore . How can both of these great cars just sucks horribly all of the sudden?

Mmm, that's possible, but I've never known Mitsubishi to do anything like that, unless the gap were to be several months, or even a MY before another option is available. I get the impression you are saying a person might only have to wait a few weeks to a couple of months before a 5speed is available?

I'm about 2,000,000% sure this was a reporting error. They put turbos on Subarus for ####'s sake lol. I wouldn't lose any sleep over thinking would break with tradition (excluding things like the U.S.-only 2G eclipse Garrett turbo) and contract another company to put the snail in their flagship.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it is too. One of the rumor;s behind the use of T-25's in 2G's was to meet some minimum domestic content. I am sure MHI has some new form of ultimate 16G ready for the X.

If 2008 sees larger displacement engines it will be because they are normally-aspirated...the FIA isn't in the habit of letting cars get faster.
Yeah, I remember talk of WRC going to N/A so the cars themselves would be cheaper and might lure other manufacturers in. The thought of a N/a evo makes me want to gag. But then, it might mean the development of another line of performance engines (and possible platforms) from Mitsu. Perhaps a 2.2L narrow angle V6 Colt hatch With ~220hp?

Evo X Video

Not sure if this was posted already but the Motortrend I just got has a review of the concept X, which they said mitsu insiders say it's 95% production. But here is the video. I like it but can do without the weird LED lights and dual exhaust.

Sure would like to see a motor shot without the engine cover installed. Can't make out t-body position or plumbing to it. They definitely re-engineered it for sure, and I can only guess the reason they moved the turbo behind the motor would be to move the center of gravity closer to centerline. I'd think that by popping the hood off and removing the engine cover would make turbo removal and replacement a breeze from the top.
Looking good.
