SRT4 guys don't seem to have a problem with it. I dont really like the placement either, but it'll do. If the motor is better and makes more power, then who cares? Stick a 50 trim back there and call it a day.

It doesn't look to me like there is any way you could slide the turbo up and out, unless you smash the firewall in with a hammer...

Those rubber IC bends look a lot like a 1G... retro tech!

Based on my observations, the easiest way to remove the turbo will be from under the car. there is a lot of room between the firewall and the engine.

Yeah, that's what I'm guessing. My guess is based on the fact that if 's marketing department is worth its salt, they will know that the DSG-style gearboxes would alienate a large portion of their prospective market if it were to be the only option available for any substantial length of time. So, it would be ridiculous to offer it up as the only option...and I'm assuming is trying to be less ridiculous nowadays...that might not be a good assumption though...

Here is the most up to date info I can find on the EVO X!! honestly, with the info I hear about the new 08 GTS (former Ralliart) this is the ONLY option for me once I want to get rid of my current Ralli. AND IT COMES TO US CANADIANS BEFORE THE USA!!

http://www.mitsubishi-motors.ca/Concept.aspx?lng=2 (be sure to choose prototype x because that is the one actually comming to dealers)

http://www.edmunds.com/mitsubishi/la...08/review.html

My opinion is not only will this be the most powerful evo ever, its also the best looking! I need to start saving now so when It comes to Canada in Sept, I'll be the first driving this beast!!

hmmm ultimate 16G for the X? You think they'll stick wth the 16G to get all that extra HP? Maybe bump it up to the 20G?

How would you possibly know a DSG will alienate a large proportion of the prospective market? That's pure speculation on your part.

I guess, I have to ask - what you think "all that extra hp" is, before I could offer a guess. I've only heard of estimates between 300-325 and a EvoIII turbo is capable of that. But yeah, for a 2.0L engine, I think they will be able to cook up a 16G that will do the trick. Even still there's such a fine line between an Evo turbo and a TD05H-18G or -20G that its really just splitting hairs.

You are right, I claimed it was fact when indeed it is pure speculation...but speculation based on how many people in here (prospective Evo X buyers) who are saying they prefer to row the gears themselves...

If there was a poll I would say at least 1/3 of the people who are contimplating the purchase of an Evo X wouldn't want the DSG either because they wouldn't like driving with it, or they are afraid they'll break it and it would be expensive to fix, or it might not hold up to mods, etc.

Ehhh not so much. The typical evo driver loves the rawness of the Evolution, that is why we bought it. A DSG automatic gear box is way too sissy for many people who prefer ol fashioned gear box. It would really take away from the driving experience and would be quite a large step away from what originally made the Evo so cherished among enthusiasts. The Evo is about precision, excellent feedback, i.e. driver-car telecommunication. Some ***** *** automatic slush box has no business being in an Evolution.

I think you ment to say we will see more of these being wrecked and totaled. Aswell as childish spoiled kids getting it as their first car from rich mommy and daddy.
