That's great! This is just an overall wonderful tool. I'm glad to see it being used. I feel bad myself because I really need to do some more tuning to get my injectors set right and boost levels right. Hopefully next semester I'll have more time for tuning. Now that it's starting to snow here, road conditions aren't really ideal for tuning

Okay I'm having a problem w/ my car lately. It's nothing on the bad side.. Just the annoying side. LOL

I have an automatic starter on my car and lately I'm having problems with the car starting. I have an idea that it could be the timing belt since it's time to have it changed. But, also I've tested that theory out and notice something else. My revolutions go pretty high everytime on cold starts. Way above the normal 2000. I guess this causes my alarm to disengage and turn the car off.

So my main question, can I extract my rom, and adjust my idle settings on the cold start portion with the OPENecu prog?

Damn that was a lot of reading....
Anyhow, I've got an 02 LS (technically OZ) Auto. Live in Jersey an willing to meet anyone to work on this. Iv'e presently got a piggy in the car and have been let down after it was reflashed by RRM. If this is really is what it seems to be, I'm down for a a get together. I've already downloaded the program, got a laptop, all I need is a cable, and anyone in the ny/nj area...

I'll bring the beer...

Well have you atleast extracted your rom and tried to define it? Gotta make sure you have a good definition file to read your rom!

I'm confused Don't take this the wrong way but, 1.) don't I need the cable to extract the rom from the ECU? 2.) I extract it & then Idefine it, right?

If I understand it correctly, without the cable, I'm stuck

oh my bad... i mis understood your earlier post. I thought you already had the cable. lol

1. Cable for the connection.
2. Program to make it all work.
3. Extract then define.
4. Tweak
5. Upload to ECU.

wondering... Can we clear CEL codes? Will they just go away with a reflash?

Well decided to just use my laptop to tune and got my cable today! Can't wait to get home and hook this thing up!

just had a quick question... before I start flashing and such... if I am 'tuned' with my SAFC now, do I need to disconnect this before I start flashing?

Actually, to be on the safe side, you should. Just cut the power on the SAFC. That way you don't have to disconnect every single wire.

so should i pull the rom off with the safc connected. then disconnect the power to the safc, reflash the ecu with the pulled rom and then go from there with the safc disconnected?

Cancel out the SAFC Totally. There won't be a need for it if you're gonna be tuning the eCU directly.
