I support this...STR didn't seem like the right home, especially after the 350Z got moved to STU.

Good, more adding newer cars back to a real class rather than burying them because old cars need to win. Even though 370z is now getting old.

gonna chat with AEM and see what they say about it. This could be a big potential market for them (ST* legal PNP ECUs - not necessarily for evos)

edit: looks like I am a bit late to the party...

You don't need to change the MAP sensor if you are running a MAF, the ECU doesn't car how much boost is being made.
yea but is this really a "solution?"

And people are talking explicitly about indirectly changing boost only. I don't think the intent, or spirit, of the rule could be any clearer than that.

lol - don't know specifically what you were arguing there, but i absolutely hate "spirit of the rule" arguments. talk about not novice-friendly. ie the spirit of the LSD rule is any device that transfers torque from side to side. no novice is going to know that, especially if he's on the engineer/tech-y side of things. hence ppl on the focus rs forum still don't think their RDU counts as a differential.

where are they to ascertain that the spirit of the rule is no torque-transfer-y things?? seance??

hmm - antilag? NLS? I'm assuming launch control falls under, do not touch traction control? or does the open ECU umbrella let me change anything I can do in the ECU?

Stock ECU already has NLS. True antilag would require parts ST* doesn't allow on the car. The stock ECU can dump fuel and retard ignition on decel with tuning tricks to sort create antilag.

Finally got aligned after the coilover switch and spring swap and decided to change things up a little bit to further set the rear end a little.

Front Camber -3.7 L/R
Caster 4.3 L/R
Toe: .05 out on each side

Rear Camber -2.2 L/R
Rear Toe 0.0

I decided to add roughly half a degree of camber in the rear mainly due to roll over and also took some toe out away from the front. My eye ball alignment was pretty bad in the front after the coilover swap a couple months ago. I believe camber was at 4.3 and 4.1 with toe being all sorts of wacked out lol.

For a IX, I think Brian Robertson a few years ago was saying his RS was down below 3000 lbs, maybe closer to 2950 lbs if I remember right. That was with 245mm tires though - mine was at 3076 lbs (close to full prep, ~1/4 tank of gas) right before Nationals in 2015. I haven't weighed mine since then, but I would guess it would be a bit under 3100 lbs even with the heavier wheel/tire combo.

that's incredible. my fat IX MR is at 3170 with a quarter tank. I haven't really done anything for weight loss that wasn't secondary to the change I was making though. the RSs/GSRs have a slightly longer 2nd too, which prob comes in handy

what else is there to do that's legal? I've done the exhaust, lighter wheels, coilovers, removed spare, and lightweight battery. I guess seats will lose some weight, but other than that what else? a/c removal? my build is really an STU light, not really the full build so I guess it is what it is

Is the AC legal to remove for both earlier and later EVOs? Not sure how that works for STU...is it more like Street or Street Prepared or something else?
