Dunno. hopefully RT can tell me exactly what caused the failure... that is just as important to me as fixing it.

They are going to do a compression test and a leak-down test to confirm all is OK with the motor. I should have those results in a couple hours. If everything checks out they'll install a BS eliminator kit, new crank pos. sensor and the car should be back in action by tomorrow.
Sounds promising so far.

Thats awesome they were able to get you in so fast.

lol, I dropped the car off on Saturday and they just started looking at it around noon-ish today... I wouldn't call that the red carpet treatment.

final diagnosis... I have bent valves. head is getting pulled and new valves will be installed. hopefully the pistons aren't dinged up too bad. Looks like I'll be down for a couple weeks.

Pour out a little 93oct for my motor... its led a good life until now. I can't say it hasn't seen its share of abuse.

I guess the good news is i now have time to get the e30 road worthy. If all goes as planned I should be getting that car on the road around the same time as I get the EVO back.

if the pistons are damaged I will replace them with drop-in's. but I'll likely leave the top end alone... except for removing the S2 cams for stock.

Did the timing belt skip any teeth? Sucks to hear.. Still have not got a chance to look at ben's car... Although it did not look good ( I think the oil pump pulley was pushing the timing cover out)
