Local Pittsburgh meet part deux

even those of us who didnt know about the J&S drama before do now.....Dont forget that even though we are the evo community, many of us have friends who have subarus, honda's or others cars who make up a larger community....word of mouth spreads fast

This couldn't be more true. For better or worse the EVO is the it "import" of the last few years and other enthusiasts seem to chat us up more then you'd think. I for one would have liked to have a decent company nearby to recommend to these kids(and most of the people that ask about my car are 16-25 set) but that seems further from likely with the recent insults posted by one of the owners of that company on these very pages.
OH WOW. I just spent about 30 mins reading through the last 10 pages that I missed. This is always what happens when I try to get off of my EvoM fix.
To SpoolinSteve: This looks really, really bad. Regardless of how pissed off you are and how justified you think you are in insulting members of this forum (which you are not), your words are a direct reflection of yourself and your company. It's a real shame because as a new shop, your attitude is going to push people away when you need it most. I have not really spoken much with you, but I have at length with Jason and think that he is a good and knowledgeable guy that has a real passion for working on and tuning vehicles.
Seeing things like this is very embarrassing for a customer like me. I freely put your shop in my signature because I want your shop to succeed and I have alot of respect for Jason. I believe a satisfied customer should do what they can to help those that helped them. I know I don't have the fastest times for a stock turbo on EvoM, but my times are respectable and I'm pretty sure I have the best quarter mile for a stock turbo Evo in Pittsburgh (which is where your business is going to come from). Don't you think people want to know where it was tuned? Think about it...
Please, don't make me look like a idiot for choosing your shop. I don't deserve it, those affiliated with your shop don't deserve it, and Jason definitely doesn't deserve it.

I spent some time with Jason at J&S today as I was getting my car dyno'd to figure out if I needed to add ballast to offset horsepower to make the TTS ratio before the NASA TT at Mid-Ohio in a few weeks.
I found Jason to be a great guy to deal with- he came in on a day the shop wasn't even going to be open to get my car on the dyno. We spent a good 1.5 hours setting the car up on the dyno, safely strapping the car (I think we had 10 staps on it
) to insure safety x2 and getting a few pulls in.
He wasn't trying to "sell" me on a tune, or adjust my car, or any other BS. I told him what I wanted to do, what the objective was, he listened and delivered exactly what I wanted (at a extremely reasonably price!)
It's apparent that Jason really likes what he does, and is enthusiastic about his business. To me, it's great to see a younger guy like Jason spend the time and effort to make his business successful.
As with anything, there is a learning curve and I'm sure if Jason keeps the same level of customer service and hones his tuning skills he will do well.
As far a this clown Steve goes, he's be best to shut his mouth and not alieinate potential clients for his friend.

Congrats Dave! Car looked like it was running strong.
Your trap loss could have been because you were in the right lane... for some reason certain cars seem to screw with their timing system and lose MPH in the right lane. Mine is one of them... looking back at past timeslips when I was stock 5 runs in the same night, 3 108 traps in left lane and 2 105 traps in the right.

I was on E85. My best run on 93 octane was 12.10. I'm sure my times would be much better if I could get my 60fts into the 1.6's. I think my best all time is like a 1.74 which is pretty weak. Next time I'm out I'm dropping the tire pressure and will probably be lowering my 2-step down to 6000rpm - i've got way too much wheelspin off the line.
have fun at the tt guys!
