Are you sure the compressor housing flows the same? I know the IX has the larger bearing cartridge and I could've sworn a slightly larger compressor (with the same size 10.5 hotside as the '05 and MR VIIIs). I did a quick search to see the flow on the IX is 610cfm versus a VIII with 10.5 at 580cfm. Not sure how reliable the source is. But hey, it's a forum.....I mean why would so many people switch from a VIII to IX if it doesnt flow more air?

Anybody care to set us straight?

Sorry if I missed this Chad but I was curious about one thing. I have my eye carefully waiting for your new uber BBK and was wondering about oil feed line. Is it still safe to utilize the OEM location? I know others tend to charge an extra chunk for this but was wondering if this is even required for these BBK or recommended. Look forward to seeing it done and hopefully having one one my car this upcoming year

+1 ^^

Also are there any surging issues with the new BBK-B or even with the BBK Fulls?
Does the new BBK still have the same size inlet as a stock turbo or are you guys going to a bigger inlet like the new FP turbos have as an option (eg. HTA Green etc.)?

we have had no issues with surge on any of the cars here... nor has bryan from GST... he has run the larger and standard and on 2.3 liters...

It will have the stock style inlets...

we have 2 evos on 2.3L with BBK full and the other 3 evos on a 2.0L with BBK full. All 5 evos do a lot of Road racing at local tracks here in Southern Cali. Never surges or die on us. To be honest it's the best stock looking turbo out there

I would assume that was before the oil feed line change/upgrade.

Chad:

Your opinion please. I want to start collecting parts for the spring build. I know guys have run the Buschur Race fmic to success with the BBK Full. But would the Street (3.5") core be fine with the BBK Full or BBK-B? So I guess the question really would be is the Race overkill and the Street just right? Thanks!

we have our own FMIC using the same garrett core as buschur's race, but no cutting required, and it can use any IC pipes that the stock IC can use

we use it on almost every build now that comes through the shop requiring a FMIC...
