I'm building boost like normal but I'm not hitting request psi 24. It gradually builds from like 3k hits like 14psi by 5k and builds to 20psi around 6k my redline.... The wastegate is tightened all the way so I'm guessing I just have a massive boost leak...

This is how mine sits now. Does your actuator have the orange seal inside when you put the new spring in?

Is this fitted to 2 litre? I had the exact same set up with the billet wheel and 11.5 but had the external wg(20psi spring) and custom ex mani and hit full boost(26psi) at 6k rpm on my 2litre. I then changed ex housing to the 10.5 and got full boost at 5k rpm. My issue is a poorly made ex mani which is why it hit full boost so late. I'm guessing 5-5.5k rpm sounds right for a 2 litre setup with the 11.5 ex housing.

ofcourse, it's diaphragm. If it is not, then our boost will control only the exhaust gases, because actuator will leak

I have the 25 pound spring and I doubled up a second spring inside there. I wish I would have took a pic of it. Take threads off the rod and shorten (with a cut off wheel) the actual nose piece a little to allow a lot more preload. Their 2.0 bar spring is no where near 2.0 bar. You need more preload I make full boost by 3700 but I have a 2.4lr this turbo rocks and I have only pushed it to 26psi so far but am capable of over 30 the way I set it up.

More preload will also help with spool up a weak actuator will open while trying to build boost and it will cause sluggish spool up.

^nice. what are your numbers and setup? With less spin you should be low 12's.

Here's a recent plot of my setup. Tuning is still in the process and I am trying to get to 30# . I am at the bottom of the preload already. Looks like i might have to cut the rod and go down a little further.

Yeah, i'm running a 2 bar spring now with full pre load. My next step was to cut the wastegate rod. Maybe 3 threads and then put it back together allowing it to have even more preload.

Will there be an issue of the rod not being long enough to open the wastegate fully though?

I like your idea of teh double spring in the diaphragm though. I bet that was a ***** to close the diaphragm back down again though haha. I had a hard time with just a 2 bar spring.

Where did you get the second spring from?

hm... your boost curve similar with mine. but it's very late for this compressor wheel size. 5500 rpm for full boost it's 35garret.
do your turbo with billet wheel?

td06 25g must max boosted at 4500.

This is on a stock exhaust manifold. The tune still needs work as well.

Not if you're running the 11.5 exhaust housing on a 2.0.

you think difference between 10.5 and 11.5 1k rpm in spool?

my turbo now removed from car and i can install hotside from my stock evo 9 turbo. but, I'm so tired of these experiments. already want to go

I had a few springs laying about so I looked for one roughly the same length and a little smaller in diameter. I don't know if I would cut the rod that much more but just make sure you still have enough movement to open the flapper sufficiently my numbers are 405 hp 415 tq on a real dyno vd showed 430hp

That is some really really slow spool up right there you are blowing the wastegate open guaranteed
