Yeah, I agree with the Mexico part. When I was working at Mazda, the Mazda 6 was built in Mexico while the Mazda 3 was built in Japan. The Mazda 6 four cylinder and Mazda 3 four cylinder is supposed to be the same motor but because the 6 was built in Mexico, it had engine issues whereas the 3 was bullet proof. That's why the Mazda 6 suffered in "Consumer Reports" ratings where the Mazda 3 didn't. Oh well, I don't work there anymore and I never cared for those cars anyways. They are MAJOR wannabes as far as performance is concerned. Their so called "ZOOM ZOOM" slogan should be considered false advertising since their engines aren't that responsive to begin with. That's what you get when you source all your ****e from FORD. Sorry, I'm getting off topic.

They all may not be EXACTLY the same but they are very close to concepts especially on the outside. I predict that Concept X will pretty much be the next EVO, the only changes I see is probably to the lights (even the designers of it stated that the things that probably will change are the taillights and 20 in rims, so even the head lights probably won't change too much). The overall shape shouldn't change a whole lot which is a big plus in my book as I've seen the car in person and it looks amazing.
Mitsu's already stated the Concept X is 90% production on the outside. Like Blitz said, the headlights, tails and wheels will change probably along with some small bits like exhaust cutout, front splitter shape, etc...Just look at the details and imagine what'd they would need to change for life on real roads and there's your X.
America has everything that needs to build a high quaility cars but I think it's the factory employees that only care about there salary and just don't care about the company itself. I realized that from traveling, these Japanese people really take pride in their work and great respect for the company they work for.

Spied!!! Mitsubishi Evo X Production Prototype
Thanks to DubspeedDriven for the early release of the news:
"The spies at over at Priddy & Co. were fruitful on their hunt earlier today as they picked off what appears to be a prototype of the upcoming Mitsubishi Evo X. Details are slim right now, but we know that the Evo X will debut in the 2008 Model Year, and is based off the GS Platform also used on the current Dodge Caliber. Rumors are that this iteration of the Evo will feature more than 300 horsepower, and will be put on a diet resulting in a curb weight significantly less than that of the current Evo. We’ll keep you posted as more details surface on this next generation import hot rod."
