Lancer Evolution X News, Info, Pics, etc... | [ALL THREADS MERGED]
in the past the evos always looked great and the base lancers looked like ***....
That hurt the sales of both cars since they are both lancers... Mitsu has at last made both cars look good and the evo is just beefyer. An auto tranny option is smart too cause most people want auto trannies. Many Porches look similar but have drasticaly different performance. I am gettinig an EVO.
PS. Now mitsu needs to fix that silly *** eclipse.

dude
not sure which pictures you are looking at but the interior of the evo X looks anything but interior of the new lancer, starting with seats, steering wheel, timer thingy, tranny shifter, etc.
the dashboard has the general shape of new EVO but so does the current EVO and Lancer.
and dont forget, this is still a concept so the final version will have a few more tweeks or suprices for us as well

Brrr,
Try not to read this post with the malice you obviously believed the first one had. Not everyone on this forum is trying to insult everyone else. I wasn't flaming you. I was pointing out a counter-explanation. It's not about not liking your point. I saw inconsistencies and possible inaccuracies, so I pointed them out. Isn't that one of the purposes of forums, active discussion to better the community, aka civil debate.
You made a statement of fact, not hypothesis. Specifically that the existence of swaybars on the Prototype X as shown at NAIAS means it doesn't have ARC; you were right and wrong. I was putting forth reasons for the juxtaposition of the picture evidence and the statements from Mitsu.
You were right that it doesn't have Active Roll Control. Mitsu never said it would be active, only that it would have Roll Control Suspension, a la the RFS from Kinetix. If you have a reference where the Roll Control suspension on the Prototype X is listed as active, I'd welcome a chance to read it.
You were wrong that the pictures prove it doesn't have what Mitsu promised, aka Roll Control Suspension. The end links and partial bars seen in the photos could easily be part of a system similar to the RFS system, therefore Roll Control as promised.
I didn't make any assumptions as I wasn't trying to state something as fact. Instead I was providing simple explanations for why your statement of fact, may actually not be a fact after all.
I am not saying that this is for a fact that Mitsu is using Kinetix's RFS system (yet it would be an easy assumption to make given their history), just that it can explain all the facts we do know. Paraphrasing Occam's razor, All things being equal, the simplest explanation tends to be the best one.

I have to be honest with you all. When I first saw the 10 I didnt like how it looked. I didnt like the interior the seats looked too wierd the front fascia looked like crap I didnt liek the grill mesh. I also didtn liek the wheels or the rear end lights.
Now that they have redone it and listened to the masses. I have to say i absolutely love the new design. I have been speaking to designers and techs at the mitsu plant in orange county and they are teling me this design is about 95% complete. They said they are going to alter some of what you see in the interior.
I think the 10 is going to be a huge success.

Another thing I forgot to add was I wonder what color options they are ging to offer? I noticed that this red is different from rallyred. I like the new red better. But I am interested to see the new colors. I have always loved the gg or the as or even eb.
Err....the Evo looks like the Lancer because, well....it IS a LANCER! Hence LANCER Evolution! Geez...when will some people get a clue?
Do you not realize that the Evo came AFTER the Lancer? I'm sick of hearing people saying 'The Evo looks like a base Lancer etc. etc.'...well, in that case, buy a Murcielago because it won't be mistaken for a 'base' Gallardo....
We drive an econobox with extra spot welds, a reworked engine and some different body panels....whoopdeefrickingdoo! Don't delude yourselves into thinking it's a supercar because it's not......
BTW, only the Evo VII-IX are markedly different from the Lancer in terms of head/taillights and general body styling (compare the Evo to the Lancer Ralliart). Previous models were very very similar...maybe an extra foglight in the front bumper, bigger wing, new front bumper etc.....but not to the extent it is now...
For one, I'm kinda glad that they're moving back to making these cars more homogeneous looking....
