Do you not realize that the Evo came AFTER the Lancer? I'm sick of hearing people saying 'The Evo looks like a base Lancer etc. etc.'...well, in that case, buy a Murcielago because it won't be mistaken for a 'base' Gallardo....

We drive an econobox with extra spot welds, a reworked engine and some different body panels....whoopdeefrickingdoo! Don't delude yourselves into thinking it's a supercar because it's not......

BTW, only the Evo VII-IX are markedly different from the Lancer in terms of head/taillights and general body styling (compare the Evo to the Lancer Ralliart). Previous models were very very similar...maybe an extra foglight in the front bumper, bigger wing, new front bumper etc.....but not to the extent it is now...

For one, I'm kinda glad that they're moving back to making these cars more homogeneous looking....
Well that depends on your definition of a supercar. IMHO any car that can perform well in drag, circuit, auto x, rally, gt, and snow. And do it all with finesse is a supercar to me. Especially when it can outperform a murcielago. Most cars can only do one or the other very well.

What super cars are you referring to? The mclaren F1? The ford gt? The zonda? etc etc.

I like that they upgraded the brake rotors, hopefully the calipers are painted with a new high temp red

More vehicles are moving to incorporate bluetooth technology. I wouldn't doubt if this vehicle will have the option of voice activated navigation, and a bluetooth handsfree kit. (Probably some of those steering wheel controls)

Well it wouldve been better to slot them not drill them. Drilling them decreases the integrity of the rotor.

Anyone read the new Motor Trend yet? They cover the X in it and mention things like the auto DSG box being the only option available at launch, that is uses an IHI turbo (please God, let that be a typo when someone saw MHI and didn't know that it meant Mitsubishi Heavy Industries) and that WRC rules may allow larger engines in 2008, and that then and only then would Mitsubishi follow suit and offer/consider a larger engine in the Evo.

I'm sure someone will start a new thread over it.

I guess everyone has a different way of looking at things, but it seemed to me like you were calling him out. Now it seems you are backtracking. But either way, I've learned a lot - carry on.

to me my 04 oz looks so different from an evo. nevertheless many people ask me if my car is an evo. i let someone drive my car around a parking lot once and they told me it was such a thrill to drive an evo

i always inform anyone who asks or doesn't know that it is NOT an evo. the problem is not many people are seen driving evos, so a "lancer" gets misrepresented as a fast sedan.

i personally think the new ones look great. i'm sick of being slow though, so an evo is next for me.

but why would anyone care if their car looks like another one which is not fast? are your egos so easily bruised? man when i get my evo i'm not getting it because of what people will think when they see it. i'm going to drive it and thats all that matters

+1 well said

People who wont know the difference between the evo and lancer will easilly find out when the lights turn GREEN <<<I'm talking about the drag strip/track not street, haha.

Well, a cursory glance at the Evolutionm home page will direct one to this URL: https://www.evolutionm.net/features/newsitem.php?id=105
It has a lot of info about the new Lancer and the new EVO X straight from .

As far as I'm concerned, sonicnofadz is either jerking our collective chains or is out to lunch in a big way. Although it's possible that the EVO X will be a totall piece of $hit, it is a very far fetched idea... Anyway, a comment like " The Evo in its stock form is not that special," is calculated to raise an argument. Obviously, such comments are patently false. Another baseless idea is that the EVO X will not be friendly to modifications. This is obviously not a proven fact since nobody has tried to do it yet. Also, the whole idea that the worth of a car is based on it's ability to modify it is simply absurd. I've been there and done that. For me, the modification disease is a bad thing. Not much good can come out of spending lots of time and money screwing with a perfectly good car and the potential for outright damage is very high. For me a car should first be driveable and enjoyable right out of the box. I don't want a car that needs a bunch of crap done to it before I like it. I like the EVO in stock form very much and I suspect the EVO X will be even better. I cannot wait to see it and I will probably be ready to buy one as soon as they are available.

complain and complain, nuff said....

The scoop is functional, it cools down the turbo near the firewall. ok what about the evo looks like a base lancer. it does, evo VII to XI looks like a ralliart or the oz. Even the Evo IV to VI looks like a mirage. If dont like the EVO get a STI cuz its looks like a WRX or the legacy...

I suggest wait till it comes out in 2008.

The bodies have the same design but the US version is long and bigger and the Japan version is still using the same size as the current evo just with the new framing and design to keep up with the ralliart circut. Sucks I know...when I saw the pics of both of them together big difference in size. FYI the new X's are supposed to launch sooner than people think. I cannot specify dates but will deff be before Thanksgiving.
What..!!!! are u getting your infos from the taboid. I heard evos are getting the Hemi and the H22 on it....in two favors.

MY definition? I'm talking about EVERYONE's definition of a supercar....We may think the Evo is great because it kicks *** in all situations, racing or not, but how many Joe Schmo's really knows what an Evo is capable of?
