I find this very hard to believe. What is your source? Are the gear ratios the same?

PPL needs to chill.

Evo X will come with DSG-style tranny OR manual. I own both manual and DSG cars and I would NEVER buy an Evo with a DSG. DSG is not mature enough for track use yet, IMO, and will be a PITA to mod.

For some reason I feel a lot of problems will come from this DSG because when BMW put that crap on there 03 M3's people were getting messed up trannys like no other. I remeber becuase my buddy was in the market for one. He ended up getting an EVO really smart choice. But I am just saying the kinks and stuff are not going to be worked. Go with what you know manual is the best because your pretty much part of the car. Thats my 2 cents I anything else is just boring

Sorry, but what is this whole "DSG" thing...? What does it do, and whats the difference between Manual - DSG - Automatic?

(obviously i know the difference between manual and automatic, but) what sets aside this DSG from the both, and what's better/worse about it?

Well... I've already googled it... read it on wikipedia, and it gave me a good thorough read.
However, I don't get why people are bothered(?) by it. I'm guessing from the read that it is better than Automatic, but the question that I'm just sticking on and can't solve is, can you still get the same power out of DSG as Manual? It says it automatically upshifts or something... so when you basically WANT to speed up fast, and give more power in one gear, it will automatically do it for you? Because in normal driving people usually upshift once you get to 2-3 revs, but sometimes people want to push it up to 4 or 5 (or more seeing that the Evo holds more) to get a bit more power... but how is this capable on the DSG if it says it upshifts for you?

AK , the DSG will have a fully auto mode, like leave it in drive and upshifts/downshifts all the time, BUT it will also have a semi-auto mode where you're required to press the paddles for downshift/upshift. This is what makes it much better than the slushboxes and also shifts very quick

you'll also need the sayc pump+reservoir and probably different TC's because both must work together

no their not the same, both the lancer and evo 10 have paddleshift control, however the gearboxes are totally different. The DSG in the evo 10 has 6 physical gears while the lancer has infinite"virtual" gears. Both are electronically controlled so both have PRND switches as well as paddle shifters, but the evo 10 is far more superior
