Same thing here.. for the first 4k miles than it smoothed out. Around 14k miles my 4th to 5th was grinding at high rpm's. I took it to the dealership and they replaced the 5th gear syncro. They said after they put it all back together they noticed 2nd to 3rd felt "notchy" so they took it back apart and replaced the 3rd gear syncro as well. Everything is very smooth now.

Props to the service dept at Mentor Mitsubishi.. those guys are very easy to deal with.

I would test drive another EVO to see if it feels the same. If not, have it repaired.

I've learned to live with my notchiness. Feels alot better than worrying about my tranny everyday. It's just not worth the down time to me right now. I would not let Mitsu touch my tranny again anyways. When I have time, and it when it gets worse (which it hasn't for 21k miles), I will rebuild with Shep or TRE. Just enjoy your Evo!

It looks like its getting 18's. I don't think it looks to bad, we'll have to wait and see the real deal....

looks like the production model, normal rotors (not drilled like the prototype) and I still can't tell if the rims are 19 or 20

if you order it through Adam at Z1auto.com u can get the JDM beam to go with it. that beam is only for 5mph and under. it wouldnt do any good what so ever in any crash.

Fluid change

I know there are alot of threads on this subject. But I was just wondering that there are 3 fluid changes at 15,000 mile mark for a evo. One is the oil, two is the tranmission, and three is the transfer case. I was wondering if the rear dif fluid change is taken care of when I change the oil in the transfer case.

wow you are a noob that's why this should be in the noob forum...

1. Tranny oil
2. Transfer Case oil
3. Rear Diff oil

The rear diff is a seperate flush than the TC.

The rear crash beam does not exist for the JDM bumper. If there is one, please post a picture.

I have the same issue but I just replaced my Tranny fluid (BG), Trans case(DiaQueen), and rear diff (DiQueen). Big improvement but still a bit notchy. I did find that if I shift at 4K the shifts are smoother but every car is different
