02 Lancer ES Turbo Project
hey also can you run 10 psi and higher on stock internals with a PROPER TUNE? I know I read around 11psi will break the rods, and 15 psi will melt the pistons but I also read that buys in south america or something have ran higher psi on stock internals because they have our cars mastered
+1 Steven I don't think its your wires I have never had an issue with them either. Like I was saying before all my hedidtstion was from fuel but it would spike to 17+ afr. can u log your wideband yet? If you can do a full pull in third to redline and if u get hesistation post or send me a log its gotta be something we can pinpoint in the log.
ahhhh here it is 03lance this is the issue im having, its a fuel thing ill post a log tomorrow when I pick up my G-ma from the airport

) but it makes a rattle whenever I shift and I really think this is whats causing me to have to keep my timing so low. Even as low as it is I can still get rapid knock light if I shift hard. Anyways after I change that I am going to try to up the timing, get dyno'ed then up the boost depending on the power I am at. If I am still below 220 at the wheels the boost goes up a little
Its all in the tune and more importantly the amount of power your putting down at any given psi. My short plan for now is I know my throwout bearing has been going out since b4 my turbo build. (although didnt know this b4 the build or I would have changed it then

I would not think 13 would cause a hesitation, at least it did not with me when I was still working on my fuel and reaching 13 as well. Send them through when you do some logs maybe I can catch something.
ill try to redline it if I can i get really nervous since the afrs are not where there suppose to be. ill post them tomorrow
finally able to get some logs in...
ok so this is what happened today, as I accelerated I heard the noise like its farting or something as it tries to acclerate, so I think its a fuel issue, here and there I can get it up to full boost which is 8, 03lance here are the logs. Im not sure what exactly you did with your tune to prevent it from not going into full boost without any hesitation problems

Also, are people really running their ignition timing this low in their tuning?
I took a quick look at the log. I can see the hesitation. Can you do some more logging, but enable IPW and IDC when you do. The 4G94 engine is known for having a flat spot issue around 3500-4000 RPM with their AFRs. After 4000-4500 RPM it'll picks back up. Your logs show this as well.

Ok so this is annoying me what the hell am I doing wrong? I have been trying to open this file for 10 mins I keep getting a corrupted file error and general input/output error. I know its something stupid I am not seeing this is why I am so irritated lol.

higher? I dont know if its to high or to low, im still getting use to the timing issue, I know how the high octane fuel map works
if you want me to email it to you pm me your email again, I had to clear out my messages again
im running my timing this low because imconstantly getting knocks all the time, sometimes there slow cel, or once in awhile its a fast cel and im not taking any chances on blowing her up. do I have to rename this file or something? I am using openoffice and have no issue opening my own logs. I tried converting it to a csv file like my own logs are with no luck.
