I think the RS is just fine as it is. We all mod our stuff anyway, so who cares?

Exactly. That's the purpose of the hot hatch segment. And the turbo AWD "affordable" segment. Affordable cars. Not super alloy/composite street going race cars. With modern requirement, people have to expect heavier car if they want to keep a certain price point. Especially since the FoRS is coming from an existing platform.

So you don't think Ford could make a competitor to the AMG A45? Which starts at $43K.

Which weighs 3,494lbs per car and driver's instrumented test . So what are you getting for the extra money other than luxury?

Not sure if people understand that over time cars have been getting heavier, whether it's because of safety standards, features that were considered options years ago that are standard in cars now, or whatever. ~3,500lbs for a 2016, four door, AWD, boosted hatch isn't bad at all.
i had a 2006 IX rs and i do know it was over 3200 bone stock, i cant really recall the exact number buy it was way over that. On Robispec scale. Then a second time comoletelyy gutted and caged weighted again also robiscale 3025lbs. Full tank of gas.

My evo X GSR also never was 3500 lbs for sure, i have to look up the corner balancing sheets somewhere. lol.

to be exact.

I am also sure scales are just as different as dynos are....

So much this. With Mercedes, you're paying for the luxury component. That's why they cost a premium over similar Japanese or American cars. Mercedes doesn't compromise in the same way, and they make you pay for that.

Best ever? We'll see about that. Out of the others, here in the U.S., it's possible.
