Focus RS
C&D's numbers appear consistent with the other recent tester results. MPH is usually a really good indication of the power a car can make. E.T's are a little more affected your variables.
The results of two vehicles with essentially the same weight going the same MPH in the 1/4 casts doubt on Fords proclamation of even 340 HP, let alone 350. I trust the Suby rating allot more then Fords right now.

19 inch wheels I think also unnessery fo the type of car is.
If I would be an RS owner that would be my forst mod. Go and get a nice 18 inch wheel set up, but that can be also iffy, since lowering a car maybe a problem also with a stock suspension set up , maybe not

some places reports 345 claimed hp, ford said 350. Either way the drive train loss seems bigger then a mechanical counter part. Based on the on claim HP numbers and the times the car runs with that weight.

As you said and I agree, I think it's more hype to gain market share from Ford.

It is an interesting car...... Just too much in the air on this car for me now.

Just like the EVO, the STI comes with pretty short gear ratios in the trans. If the RS is geared differently (taller), it can certainly effect 0-60 and 1/4 mile ET/trap speed.
I have been trying to give Ford the benefit too but I feel like they're trying to slip us a phoney Ben Franklin.
Straight line numbers, "so far" are very on par with the Subi.
We shall see.
Taller gears hurt acceleration (all other things being more or or less equal). Taller gearing will have it trapping at a lower RPM, not necessarily a higher trap speed. We don't want to confuse top speed with trap speed.

I will bet you if you run your Evo with the stock final drive and give me say ~ +40HP
and a 4.11 final drive I will out trap you all day long.
Don't bring out the John Force in me.
Acceleration relates to ET.....how quick you get there. Again both STI and RS are within a tenth or two.
