the first Focus RS was fwd, sure, but RS doesn't mean FWD. in the 90's europe had the Escort RS which was AWD, and before that they had RWD RS models...
so all RS really means is a high performance model, going off Fords history with it, they don't have to stick to any drive train configuration

But this thread is about a Focus now isn't it.I have had a long connotation for RS meaning Rally Sport. Heck we can even bring Camaros into this discussion now.

The fact that they have not announced any Nurburgring times, makes me think it must be much slower around the ring than the 7:50 posted by the new Civic Type R.
