Congrats on the purchase.

If you care that much about your warranty, I'd leave the IX completely stock. My VIII is completely stock and I still have trouble with them honoring simple warranty stuff. If you talk to a dealer and they say you can eventually do a couple little mods through Ralliart, make sure to *get that in writing from them first* before buying and having the items installed.

As long as your car is completely stock, you at least have both legs to stand on and can confidently argue pretty much any warranty issue in your favor. Otherwise, many times they'll pretty much have you by the *****.

This is why people with real problems that they didn't cause can't get warr work done.

NOT COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As Greg says you play you pay... bottom line!

uh......if you were to fart in your car mitsu would void your warranty saying the rapid density change in the air caused the car to be off balance for 1 milli-second

Warranty claim problems/No claim problems

It seems that everybody that I talk to that either has an Evo or that knows anything about them has pretty much written off Mitsubishi completely as far as covering stuff under warranty. I would like to start a poll to find out peoples experiences with warranty claims. Please only vote if you have submitted a claim. Also, if you don't have your mods in your sig, please list them at the time of the claim.

Sorry if this has already been done. I searched briefly, but couldn't find anything this specific.

I think that there may be some interesting numbers from this poll.

Thanks guys (and gals).

I personally haven't attempted to make a claim (haven't needed to and I am pretty sure that I would get nothing now anyway), but I am tired of reading on the Lexus forums how if you just mention the word Mitsubishi and warranty in the same sentence you get flamed.

can't really help but it would be interesting to see results. I got my evo last august and it's still stock. I've been tempted to do much work on it but i want to hold off to atleast 6k miles and go to a dealer nearby to get the feel of how they are. When it comes down to it the dealer is who calls it. Of course ive heard 90% are a$$H*les but an evo is meant to be worked on hehe.

I don't know how you can not work on the Evo. I think that it is almost a waste to leave it stock 'cause the car just loves mods so much, but I know that most people are afraid to mod because of the warranty coverage issues, so I think this poll may help dispell some rumors.

Well right now i can't afford to trick w the warranty, in the near future i will be getting a diff job that will allow me to play more if u get what i mean. I'm only 21 i live on my own and i'm hoping on changing careers within this year. Also i'm a fml which means all the shops think they can charge me up the a$$ for things. I may be a fml but i'm def not dumb so i'm trying to learn as much as i can b4 messing with it engine wise. I hope to have my evo this year become my second car and if that goes as planned then evo here i come w mods lol

I understand completely.

You do realize that you are probably every guy on here's dream girl right? 21, smart, live on your own, drive an Evo and soon to be a baller (with the career change). Now that's what I'm talkin about.

I second that motion. I give alot of respect to women when I can shoot the **** with her about cars and parts, but tell the truth thats few and far between. WIsh more women could be like you. Try asking fellow floridians on the board where they go to get work done or order parts as finding a reliable respectable shop can be a feat in itself. Good luck.

The problem is that most people either have so many mods they don't even want to bother trying to make a claim or they simply never had a problem with thier cars.
