So your saying that when you do a boost leak test you can only get 3 psi before the leak is so bad it wont go up anymore? Thats a pretty big leak then. Do you have someone watching the boost gauge for you while you build the pressure or are you just pressurizing it then checking the gauge? Kinda hard to tell exactly where those spots are in the pics maybe you can also take an overhead shot and circle the areas pictured here.
Those spots to me look like the EGR solenoid on the evo unsure about a base lancer but i will assume its the same

yeah its just those two hoses you see with the little black band, when I try to clamp it down with the zip tie I heard "sorry brain fart not sure if thats how you spell it" this whistling sound so its one of these, I was able to get up to 3 and a 1/2 psi. I bought some metal clamps so im hoping this will solve the problem tomorrow.

so the check engine lights do you think that could be from a boost leak causing not enough fuel to dump? Im still getting check engine lights from the 2 step position and trying to accelerate hard from first gear because it hesitates.

so lets say I get a knock count of 12 right so I lower the degrees by 4 because of every 3 knocks = 1 degree of timing so when I go down the line its like for example 34,34, 34, 15, 8, 10, 10, 9, 6 etc... lets say the 8 in the middle was 12 degrees, do I leave it alone or do i smooth it out down the line and around?

its like near the injectors right above the clipsin the middle theres a short line that does a U, and there is a long one that comes from the intake manifold and goes to the right of the engine if your facing it

Pull it off see if it has cracked may need a solenoid.

Also steven a real easy way to find exactly where the leak is is to take some soapy water (careful of any electrical contacts) take a small brush maybe like a toothbrush and spread soapy water in the area you hear the noise it should be very apparent where its at, this works mint for finding holes in tires too

Ok I just ordered my 399 maf sensor, and it should be here by monday at the latest. What are the stock settings I need to run in order to make it run right?

also im not boosting until I get it because I think my stock maf cant keep up with the air the turbo is pushing through the motor. I did a little boost run yesterday I think I kept the throttle around 80-90% and im getting low afrs around 10 still so I think that could be my issue as well. Still waiting for the hong kong people to ship me my package

I am running a completely stock evo 8 maf settings everything from the size, smoothing, and scaling are stock evos and I am pretty sure you are running the same stock evo intake setup as me steven so you should probably do the same I think you would get some good results when you get that maf

ok I will porbably just email you or roadspike my rom and have you guys just change whatever needs to be changed, I can change it but I dont know exactly everything that needs to be done.

Did you ever get rid of your egr solenoid? I just need to know because if I need to remove it I will just do that because if im getting boost leaks still I would like to get rid of it as soon as possible if it doesnt cause any problems

Serial Cable finally came in today!!! woo hoo, ok, now can anyone tell me a special way to have the wires connected to the blue aem wideband wire, and ground it with the black wire from the wideband?

basically how do you connect the pins together? do I solder them, strip the wire, or use something to connect them?
