well did some logging, and I did some 2 stepping logs as well and I have alot of knocks to work out

2 step = almost 15 knock counts so I need to lower those tomorrow. "this is when I wot it to get to boost levels

3rd gear pulls = about 8 knocks when almost wot, some hesistation when getting into boost.

so probably tonight I will change up the timing in some areas and try logging tomorrow morning and see if I get anymore knock counts.

update on build, leaking oil under the turbo, right where my connection point is between the ss braid and the swivel connection, its a few drops here and there so im going to have to figure out how to reconnect that and get this oil situation under control. But the best part of that is when I get low I can put new oil in it but I would rather do an entire flush than just keep filling her up. I will give you a status update.

Oil leaks suck man, you should be super careful, but get it fixed asap. If you run low on oil you'll be out an engine. You still can't log AFRs, eh? knock gets combated by pulling timing, but you also gotta make sure the AFRs are solid in that area. Adjusting AFR can sometimes change what timing is required, from what I hear.

yeah I didnt even think about that at all, I will have to check the afrs on the log that I got, but no I can log it yet, I hope this cable gets shipped today. But im probably just going to pull the timing anyways just to get the car to quit knocking and when I get the cable in I will just increase the timing so I can get more power and just use the afrs to fix the knocks

Correct afr's do make a big difference on timing in some cases.

However with new parts make sure nothing rattles when your bouncing the 2 step or it will knock like crazy.

Basically if you can make a pull in the two step area without knock but get knock on 2 step the culprit is most likely something mechanical hitting or tapping the block, exhaust, etc and causing the knock sensor to pickup fantom knock.

Oh and steven if i were you i would get an evo maf ASAP. Tuning up your maf scaling for turbo on your stock maf is going to be very difficult for a beginner. The time and effort spent will be well worth just getting an evo maf and using the stock evo maf settings.

You have to ground as well. ALso make sure its grounded at the same location as your guage is otherwise your logged result could be skewed. you need to be logging "1byteload" steven since you using evoscan and an evo rom

Search the evo 1-9 private sales for a maf and you should be good. I see a bunch around 100 or less.

Ah the Post Game turbo build, sometimes almost as much fun as the actual build lol

So your saying that when you do a boost leak test you can only get 3 psi before the leak is so bad it wont go up anymore? Thats a pretty big leak then. Do you have someone watching the boost gauge for you while you build the pressure or are you just pressurizing it then checking the gauge? Kinda hard to tell exactly where those spots are in the pics maybe you can also take an overhead shot and circle the areas pictured here.
